It's better than the regular shingle.

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
I like it better than the normal conquest version, but shingle isn't my favorite map anyway. I feel that it's a bit easier to play simply because you cannot take command until all the others are capped. Plus, both sides have an uncap(at least until all other flags are taken)

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
I think itīs absolutly horrible. On a map where command center overlooks the whole map AND EU has to take multiple flags to take bleed back, Assault Lines has no space.
The fights over Commandcenter have been some of the best on the map overall. And by the rules you wuold have to treat it as UCB as long as itīs locked. Assault Lines version doesnīt add anything to this map. It only takes more away.
tltr; Horrible, just horrible

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
I strongly dislike AL Shingle.
PAC has free, persistent higher ground and the ability to rocket all the satellite flags. I'll elaborate later, but I think the map is unplayable.Fight!

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
I've never played ALOpShingles, but in concept it sounds interesting. However, from experience, I can imagine that with our server rules the map would become a headache quickly. The 'UCB' would be way too useful of a staging point for long range defense (rocketing Refugee/Columns/Trenches), as well as being the part of the map where some of the more interesting skirmishes take place, second to Columns, in my opinion.
A map I'd like to see Assault lines on, would be Suez Canal. EU would have a much easier time defending if they didn't have to dedicate a squad to defending Inner to prevent buggy rushes. Cerbere would also be an interesting Assault Lines map, but I think there it would give EU too much of an advantage.
Back on-topic, my vote's for I just like to be spanked

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
I've never liked the map, ever. A large part of this is due to too many snipers and rockets over the entire map. It ruins to map for me.

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
It's already a good defensive map. Making the main base uncap able only gives the defense more of an advantage.

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
Though I believe the map would be more frustrating than enjoyable. If you could actually cap out Command Center via the Assault Lines variant, it would be quite the accomplishment.

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
I don't know if there was an actual vote in favor of AL Shingle. Personally I think it was more along the lines of the admins trying to add variety to the game play. However I don't know that for sure...just an assumption.

Re: Operation Shingle - Assault Lines Version
Yes but the PAC are defending and giving them an Uncap just makes it even harder for the other team. The option of going to command is gone and as everyone has pointed out, you get blasted from all sorts of directions trying to reach the other flags.
I was squad leading on EU for the round that made Zhohar comment on it being a useless map, and I agree entirely. Our team couldn't take Columns for ages because of the defense...but you see we need that flag before we can go after Command and to leave it until last just means there will be more defenders on it, so will be even harder to take.
Of course it can be ignored, but then you're left with Command and Columns, the 2 places with the best high ground and in the centre of the map, being left alone and everyone there free to put fire on any other flag. Uncaps are in places you don't need to go, locked flags in assault lines are places you should avoid until later...but in Operation Shingle, Command is beneficial to either team so it's unfair not to be able to go after it.
5 people just want to be spanked so far...XD
