Re: Bf3
*drools* ... it's after Homer's voice.
Which comes first, BF3 or the new patch to BF2142? XD Just wondering...
Is there any more info about BF3? Screenshots, reviews etc.
EDIT: A friend just sent me this (old) link: http://www.digitalbattle.com/2007/10...3-leaked-info/
I particularily like the "Release in late 2008" XD
and "Built-in auto software updater (no more patches!, ed.)"

Re: Bf3
I had to /facepalm at the latest comment on that announcement, "Where can DICE go wrong? They are the "KINGS" of Massive FPS shooters!" Apparently the commenter had never heard of Planetside or World War II Online. IE, real MMOFPS instead of the standard FPS model that DICE plays in. Oy.
As for BF3 I'm not sure about it. I like BF1942 well enough but not too much. I recently bought BF2 and BF2142 at the same time. Yes, I'm a late comer. BF2142 is dominating my play time. BF2 I poke at now and again but by-and-large it just doesn't impress me. I know it is supposed to be the better of the two titles but I can't just get into it. I can't tell if it is because of the lack of a decent server or the setting. Whenever TG's BF2142 server is empty I am happy to play on other, lesser, servers so it might just be the setting that I find ho-hum. If that is the case I am not sure another iteration in the same setting will have any better chance to capture my play time.

Re: Bf3
BF 2142 was a bit screwed over by the talk of spyware at release as well as suffering from many bugs on release. Add to that it was made using the same engine as BF2 and many felt that is wasn't really any improvement over BF2.
If more people had given this game a fair chance it would have proved a lot more popular than it did.

Re: Bf3
Bah, I'll miss the IDS but won't miss the rocket spam. That's about the only thing that grates on my nerves in BF2142 on TG. Sometimes you're facing off against 5 assaults (SL being Support) and have a rain of 20 #@^@#%ing rockets. Seriously, when you can put more rockets on a target than armor or aircraft something is amiss.

Re: Bf3
What rockets? I haven't unlocked those yet. :P Even worse, when I get a kit with rockets I either have no clips left or the rockets I do have seem to just wiff without damage. That is opposed to the enemies rockets which have a Greyed seeking device in each and every one.
