Rassa fassa....
I work graves and as such I stay up graves. For me to play BF2142 on TG's servers I need to be in before it gets too busy in the mornings or before it empties at night. So beginning or end of my day. Missed the server last night so I waited for it to fill up this morning. Got in when it was at 20 people but had some wierd lag. Every few seconds the whole game would hiccup. Got progressively worse until I was pretty much seeing people run but not animate, bounce around rocks, I'd rubberband. Horribleness. So I reboot. No good.
Figured, ok, run an MTR out to my leased machine and see what's happening. Entire path, from hop 1, shows the same pattern. <30ms pings for 3-4 seconds but the next 1-2 seconds it all spikes to 700-800ms then back to <30ms pings for 3-4 seconds again. Great, probably my local DSL segment flapping like crazy. Grrrr... And here I was having some good rounds of BF2142. Probably by the time this dies down the server'll be full. >.<

Re: Rassa fassa....
Its not just you. I've experienced it and others have also. Not quite to that extreme, but a few of us are seeing these big lag spikes every few seconds sometimes.

Somewhere in the backbone perhaps. Maybe someone cut a fiber bundle like that guy did in San Fransisco. When that happened my ping went through the roof because a LOT of traffic was being rerouted.

Re: Rassa fassa....
Yeah the server is probably dropping a lot of packets somewhere, so you get rubberbanded around a lot.
