Grrr, now I have to get my NS to work properly again... I can unlock perm unlock NS items/upgrades but still can't play on NS maps.

I just did the regedit to 1.10 and reinstalled the 1.5 patch, and I was able to then play on NS servers. Make sure you try the fixes in order, they go from least painful to just plain silly.

Noob question though, I'm only at about 6000 points, so I have maybe half the unlocks. I got NS not only for the maps, but for the "easy" unlocks I was teased with. I played on my first NS server last night for maybe 2 hours, but only got my normal 'promotion' unlock, and possibly one other for some reason. Is there a list of what the NS 'unlocks' are?

There are several sites but the one I like the most:

Plug in your name, add yourself to the queue if you're not there already, wait for the update (few minutes tops most times) and then go over to the awards tabs. There it'll list all the awards, pins and ribbons you can get. Mouse over each and it'll tell you your progress as well as how much for each level. Includes the ones added in NS.

Or you can go into the Battlefield game, BFHQ on the left, then go to Unlocks and the top most row of all the unlocks are the NS ones (the IDS, Clark RDX, the extra assault clips, radar grenades, etc). If you went far enough up the tree you can unlock the NS stuff provided you have NS properly installed

NS specific badges and pins give you an unlock point when you earn them (the pin gives an unlock the first time only, the badges give an unlock per level).

Earning badges, pins, medals and ribbons will help you gain ranks faster too (they boost your points) so if you're close to one or two it doesn't hurt to try to achieve them.

My guide had a great track record for fixing the unmodified content error and has many helpful community additions. As project stated, they go from easiest to hardest/most involved.

The stupid part is that EA is completely idiotic when it comes to this. There's absolutely no excuse that they don't offer the latest game for download nor that we are required to have the CD/DVD in the drive. We have an account to which our CD Key(s) is registered. CD Keys are per account. As long as the account isn't logged in twice, only one copy of the game in play at any given time. Seems to work for Valve just fine. I think it's because of the paranoid nitwits at EA can get it through their skulls that the online verification is far superior to the on-disc stuff which has already been cracked for years that requires such install dances from their customers. Why they have both is beyond comprehension.

Well, I installed NS without having to uninstall and reinstall the entire game, and it works.

I just used regedit to change the version to patch 1.10, and then did the same patch process over the current install.
