Re: Community Poll: Second Server with Strongly-enforced Teamwork
I don't much like the ideato be honest. We have enough problems with *cliques* forming on the main server already. 2 man locked APC squads, 3-4 man locked squads of friends. Full squads locked on continuall baisis threw multiple rounds creating an imbalance on either side racking up 250-300 + squad scores. I know its fun to play with friends and the high scores are fun but really, its not much of a challenge and its quite irratating at times. I personally gave up the other night because for 3 hrs it was 1 squad running 250+ and up top squad scores just destroying our side. I know QQ and all that but really, it's nice to see it spread around teaching others teh way of TG and watching pubbies or new/just for fun TGers to come together as a whole and pulling off a high score or amazing feats.
I guess what I am saying is I honestly like the idea and love playing the TG way. I wouldn't have it any other way, but I wouldn't play on a server for *elietests* who get bored of only playing with there *clique* and tearign apart pubbies/ and jsut for fun TGers. Doing so could fracture the community. I have seen it happen in many other games, guilds, clans and I would rather not see it happen in TG.

Re: Community Poll: Second Server with Strongly-enforced Teamwork
Not the point I was trying to make. That's what happens now (sometimes, some SLs just don't listen) in the current environment. My point was that situations are ambiguous and in a stricter environment where presumably kicks would be more prevalent such misunderstandings can cause problems because of the added drama of punitive action. This was but one, common example I'm sure everyone here has experienced at least once.

So...what does Zho think of all these comments...?

Re: Community Poll: Second Server with Strongly-enforced Teamwork
Zho posted his thoughts after Zoraster on the first page. It's an unworkable solution, and it doesn't address the problem.
Fight!

Re: Community Poll: Second Server with Strongly-enforced Teamwork
I would like it, but I think if it was much more dedicated than the main server people without mics or in lower skill levels (both me) will get either kicked from their squads or... "un-preferred", if that describes it well.
EDIT:
This would be awesome!! Then we wouldn't care about stats as much, and people wouldn't just play to "win" or just "to kill"... but to improve as a whole soldier!!!

Re: Community Poll: Second Server with Strongly-enforced Teamwork
why don't we have a 2nd server that is unranked, and available for anyone that wants to go over to it and play in the evenings, in a more intense environment? It would just be 26 slots (two squads on each side + CO) and specifically made for teamwork, like scrims. Then, for the people that want to go hardcore for an evening, they just announce it over TS, and get 20 people to go in. It wouldn't distract from the main server too much, and wouldn't be populated that much either. It could also have a PW that was only released to people signed up to this forum, so that pubbies wouldn't take it over at random times.
Dunno, just a thought. I love scrims, and have yet to do one in BF2142.
((Insert slightly witty, yet incredibly common-sensical quote here, to possibly ellicit a comment in one of thousands of posts on a rather popular web forum.))

Re: Community Poll: Second Server with Strongly-enforced Teamwork
Yeah that's what I was wondering about, but it would leave the first server without many TGers. Since most people would probably like having a smaller population / scrim style game...and there are 2 servers...that's why I suggested changing both servers on as an event night. Would that be a better idea?

Re: Community Poll: Second Server with Strongly-enforced Teamwork
I would love to be more competitive.
However, the community's safety is a higher priority.
I would like to see more intersquad tactics. If anyone wants to coordinate before hand, then PM

Re: Community Poll: Second Server with Strongly-enforced Teamwork
A CO doing this is like putting two random things together in hopes that they work well together. It's pretty haphazard in a 'throw two darts blindfolded and hope they both hit' type of deal.
Without teamwork, you'll never survive.
