Watch the tank while it is in the air. Is it possible he's actually driving it and it's changing the direction in air? Look at how the thrusters fire vs. how it turns. Could it technically have been possible for the driver to even it out and land flat? We'll never know!

random? i was showing excellent way to approach guy on flag...
1) approach from behind cover
2) throw grenade to make him cower in fear
3) rush in with correct weapon drawn (not knife)
4) realise I'm in complete open and he has all the cover and not actually cowering in fear
5) panic
6) shoot wildly and hope for headshots with engineer SMG
7) smile as shot hits barrel of flaming death and enemy goes byebye
8) run around flag pretending I meant to hit the barrel and look cool

There is no way I was driving it as it was moving in the air, for me, the screen just went crazy and I had no idea what was going on. It was looking at sky, ground, buildings in a flurry of frames too quick to see what was really happening, I just let go of the buttons and keys and started swearing at my pc... Then when it came to rest I realise I'm upside down, surrounded by trees and my health is at about 8 and ticking down, I bail and am just like OMG WTF I've just teleported from mainroad to commtower. At the time I was super mad and just like omg I'm unluckiest person alive wth just happened, especially as I had not been able to get hold of the tank for most of the game (pubbies kept on grabbing it before I could and running me over). In hindsight though, super glad it happened cos it's super wtf moment and I've never seen anything like it although it appears some of you guys have experienced this most zany of WTF moments before!!
