Re: Video Settings
i use a dual monitor setup. one regular as the primary (17") and one widescreen (19") as the secondary. I've never even considered playing it on the widescreen. Is there any noticeable difference in how it plays?
For those with huge monitors wondering why i'd play on a 17", I tend to play on smaller ones because I find it increases my ability to see things in my peripheral vision which helps me play a lot.

Re: Video Settings
I think you should give the larger monitor a shot Zoraster, and if you feel that it's too big, push it back on the desk a little ^_~

Re: Video Settings
there's not a lot of room to push them back and still maintain a good two monitor setup. Maybe you can tell though my cat is in the way in the closeup

Re: Video Settings
Playing at lowest settings is okay to maximize frame rate, and I did this for a while on my 8800GT just for kicks, but if you can push out high settings at a constant 60FPS, why not. The main factor though is going to be geometries and view distance. Maxing those is going to be more important than any of the other settings. In my opinion of course.

Everything maxed out at 2560x1600 on a Dell 3007WFP-HC with EVGA GTX260 216.

Re: Video Settings
not much more space to be had. that's the second bedroom and it has to fit my computer stuff, the girlfriend's computer stuff (to the left with the trackball), and the second bed.
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but this is what the room has to fit.. Clicky.

Re: Video Settings
I'm still trying to grok why a new monitor is needed for video settings. Unless you mean that you do not have a monitor presently?

I have a widescreen, what's this about editing your shortcut? Just curious.

Re: Video Settings
So I got my new system fully up and running last night, and WOW.
I've got widescreen running at 1440/900(I could have went 1690/1050 but have higher FPS with lower) All the important attributes like modules and effects are running high. I can finally run my view distance at 100% Thanks again for the response Mixa, went off those settings a bit.
I did try max settings on a pubbie, and I have to agree you with Damonte, the realistic shadows are pretty awful for seeing people.
And to answer you Greyed, I have built a new system but the monitor was bad. So I had to wait for it to come in for me to use it.
