Re: Statistics Series: Hours SL+CO/SM
Don't announce other's totals until toward the end of the "contest" as that takes away the fun of them coming in with a whopper.

Re: Statistics Series: Hours SL+CO/SM
I feel I should point out that this statistic is mathematically meaningless, in case nobody noticed. I'm no math major but anyone that takes a second to look at what's being measured here will realize it is meaningless because your SL hours are independent of your hours as SM. That is, if you SL 13 hours and are SM for 40 hours, that means you've played 53 hours, not 40 hours with 13 of them being SL. Thus, dividing your SL hours by your SM hours to get a ratio is meaningless, because your SL time isn't a fraction of your time spent as SM.

Re: Statistics Series: Hours SL+CO/SM
Correct. It's meaningful in the sense that you can analyze it. For example:" wow, silver is awesome for nearly always stepping up to the plate." Or, on the other hand, "wow, silver has a perverse need to be in control whenever he plays, perhaps he could be a better sl if he occasionally joined other squads"
Unlike revives to hours played, I suspect there will be a lot of disagreement on whether high, low or medium numbers are preferable. And of course, it has its pitfalls. Are people who always squad lead 2 man armor/gunship squads really the same as those who lead 6 man squads? But that's true of most of these statistics... For example, if you play assault on armor maps a lot, you'll probably have fewer revives per hour assault than someone who only plays assault on inf maps.
In the end, kelvin, I'll reiterate what I said about this before: some stats will be serious, some will be almost meaningless, some will just be a laugh. This one feels a mix of a serious stat witha funny element... Which is probably my favorite type of stat.
EDIT: oh, and I was confused about your point, kelvin. Just because they are independent doesn't mean It's meaningless to put it into a ratio. If I spend 1 hour SL for every 3 as a SM that says something about the choices I make in how I play the game.Last edited by Zoraster; 07-17-2009 at 03:28 PM.

CO ~ 3.5 Hours
SM ~ 170 Hours

Remember that the decimals you people are using for your numbers might be wacked. Hours are not in base ten.
