Re: Sad news
A real hero. Voluntarily serving to lead an IEDD team so that others can live safely is the ultimate in self sacrifice. I salute your friend and his service, and I am truly humbled by his story.

Thank you for your kind words everybody. His family have suffered terribly. The man was a genuine hero. I can't even begin to imagine how many Afghanistani civilians are still alive with all of their limbs intact because of young Danny and his team.
I'll never forget him, that's for sure. I particularly enjoyed that poem, Britt.

Hero's are those who do what most people would run away from. Hero's are those who give themselves to others, hero's are those who are willing to give of themselves the ultimate sacrifice.
To all the hero's, God bless them and God bless their friends and families.

Re: Sad news
I do not mean to sound detached or insincere, but I am sorry to hear that he was killed by a bomb. It must have been tough for the people around you.
Remember the good times and be thankful for the time you had to share with him.
A former high school friend spends his days in the US Army dealing with the IEDs. I would hate to find out that he died from an IED. Life has been ruff on him and his family, so I can only imagine what it would be like for his family and friends if he died.
