Re: Recon or support
I have to say as someone who mostly just plays against supports rather than as one, I am very very infrequently bothered by EMP grenades while infantry. The fuzz lasts a very short while, generally not even long enough to get even a little disoriented.
I know some people swear by it, but I don't see the emp against infantry as an effective use of time or space. I'd carry the emp on the off chance of armor... not its effect on inf.
Obviously I'm not referring to COs emp which can cause major problems.

Re: Recon or support
It is improbable that even 25% of the players you hit with EMP will actually lag up, especially on TG.
He was told that he should not kill, and he did not kill, until he got into the Army. Then he was told to kill, and he killed.

Re: Recon or support
Ahh I wasn't aware it did that... Do you play on a fairly high setting? I play on a low one (admittedly on a decent computer) and never experience emp lag.

Re: Recon or support
Thats an easy question for these guys, support is better with team mates and strong team play. I love recon and it was my first unlock, towards the Lambert, but it is hit or miss sometimes. Support is a strong class all around.

Re: Recon or support
Go with support unless you are a capable Recon user. Before you unlock a lambert, try using one off of a dead body. They are good but can be hard to use if you are not familiar with their feel.

Re: Recon or support
The points you made are valid and I realize that I sounded a little harsher then I meant to so you have my apologies for that. I have simply never found the sentry gun to be of much use, and yes while the walker on tunis doesn't re-spawn for however long I find it is a major pain to be switching your kit up in the middle of a game (especially with how much the defib gets used on TG).
You are absolutely right though this has nothing to do with this thread so back on topic I would get that 3rd grenade upgrade and then start up the support tree.Proud to have been an Irregular!

Re: Recon or support
As a SL, I find it very obtrusive when the only kit someone can be is recon.
Recons have their place, sure, but it isn't a very high priority.
A little more of an economic perspective..
There is higher demand for support than recon.Without teamwork, you'll never survive.
Without betrayal you'll never win.

I don't live long enough to use my stuff! >:-( But Support nonetheless.

Re: Recon or support
Yeah, I hate to rule with the majority but Support is the way to go. Despite all this clamoring for the Clark, I find the Ganz to be an extremely enjoyable weapon to use, if it fits your playing style.

Ganz > Clark at every range except in your face.
Unless you plan to spend the entire round at Com Tower or defending Columns, bring a Ganz.
