Bommando?
After watching Mr. Lyramion's Anti-bommando video again I have to wonder, who is bommando? I also saw that funny picture of the bommando squadleader!

Re: Bommando?
Ok, well, Argetnar, do all of us a favor and ask via PM...
It is best if you ask some of the former 7th or some of the older members, or you could just drop it...

Re: Bommando?
Bommando is (ex)7th member who nowdays is playing in -F- gaming forums, not in TG. Basically 7th members formed focused gaming community after their IHS had split up and nowdays they play other games, besides some guys who remain here (Lyra for instance).
Rumors tell that Bommando hanged hes squad members who wouldn't listen... "Gah I said hes name TWICE"

God, this thread comes up yearly doesn't it. When bom sl'ed he made reaper look like a saint.
Lyra's video was a response to Bom's rocket video, which is great video. I'm going to refrain from saying anything else.

Re: Bommando?
Well, it doesn't have to be particularly contentious to tell who bommando was in the context of the videos at least.
Bommando was an admin of both bf2 and 2142. For a time, he was probably the major 2142 admin (since tempus rarely played).
He was also very good, despite being australian (and thus having mega pings). He was one of the first to really "get" rockets on the server, so combined with his need to use them (remember, big ping) he was rightfully pretty famous for using rockets.
He was one of the primary squad leaders in the early days of the server, so he was well known. He was known for being an extraordinarily demanding SL, often to the point of being abrasive. Many did not like being in his squads because of it. Others sought it out (it did produce results)
He was also the leader of the 7th. The 7th was undeniably the dominant IHS on the server for the first six-nine months although many of the 7th stopped playing on the server after we started playing competition.
As for the rest is where you get into things admins would rather not have talked about.

Re: Bommando?
I also enjoyed listening to his commentary on some of the competitions. Although I can't remember the site they were hosted on off-hand. He was always entertainingly colorful.
And as demanding a SL as he was, he did it in a way that avoided the abrasiveness in my opinion...but like Zoraster said, not everyone would agree with me.
As far as his videos, they always did a great job of showcasing his top notch skill in a way that was more about instruction rather than simply stroking his ego.

Re: Bommando?
I would have to agree, you either got along with you or you didn't. I thought Bommando was cool, although demanding he usually got you into positions that allowed you to have an advantage. I was sad to him go.

Re: Bommando?
It's not "the admins" vs "Bommand," the admins had very little, if anything, to do with Bommando's departure from TG.
And yeah, I hated being in Bommando's squads, too much yelling, but I liked him outside the game. What people are leaving out is his razor sharp wit and tongue to go with it. He could cut to the quick in only a few words and have you cracking up just as quickly.
