Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
squad hopping and gunships as transports will a big pain in the ass. I'm guessing as a team TG will not utilize these rules, or will we? What is your opinion on this?

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
I have not decided yet. I'll take nothing off the table at this point, and certainly not in an open thread where they can tell our strategies. There will be a Tactical Conflict forum opened after signups where we'll do all of our strategy discussing.
I'll say this though: I'll make decisions based on how practical the strategy is. If I think it's pretty likely to help us win, then I will probably use it. If it's more trouble than it's worth, then I won't.
EDIT: Judging by the fact I have 1976 posts and that's 1.97 posts per day, it appears this is (around) my 1000th day of TG.Last edited by Zoraster; 09-06-2009 at 03:11 PM.

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
for some reason i put in wrong links. They're right except it puts some extra stuff in front of the real links.
The correct links are:
Zip: http://www.tournamentgamingworld.com..._City-v3.5.zip
Exe: http://www.tournamentgamingworld.com..._City-v3.5.exe
I'll fix it next time I can edit it, but that's a harder process than you might think.

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
Am I the only one who keeps on thinking the signups were today or last Sunday? Both weekends I've kept searching for the signup thread, and realize its the 13th, not today!

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
Tactical Conflict is now up. This is a SEPARATE forum, so if you haven't already, you'll need to register.
http://www.tacticalconflict.com/index.php
PM me either here or there to get the password to this. I'll only give it out to people who I trust are TG, but I have no problem getting strategy discussions started early. Keep in mind though that just because you participate in this, you are not assured a spot playing.
But it's obvious certain players are keen to start talking about strengths and weaknesses of the maps we're playing.
Thanks!

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
It's official. We will be playing Mashtuur City 32p as their map pick. They asked for EU on all maps, but I rejected that out of hand, given that we have side choice for their map choice, and the tiebreaker will need to be flipped for.
Anyone who wants to participate in the discussion on side selection for Mashtuur City or any other strategy discussion needs to PM me for the tactical conflict password (as well as register for the tactical conflict site if you have not done so already)

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
One more update: the tiebreaker in 64p Verdun will have its sides picked by the team who had the most tickets in their victory. Mashtuur City's tickets will be set to 300 and Belgrade 64p will have 300 tickets as well.
Both sides will most likely want EU as it's the marginally better side on verdun as the flags are mostly on the EU side of the wall.

Quick bump for those unaware (or lazy): we have a tacticalconflict forum, PM Zoraster to get the pass, so that we can start planning.

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
Quick question...
What is the ruling on TG's "Vehicle use is limited to realistic use only" in the scrim? I noticed the gunship is allowed to be used as a transport, but didn't see any mention of the other things we usually don't allow. So that would be: ramming with vehicles, running people over, and using drop pods to destroy air vehicles.
I'd assume they were allowed also, but thought it best to clarify...

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
Running people over is not against the rules, it's only against the rules if you're driving around in an FAV not doing anything objective-based, just trying to run people over. If you're driving somewhere and you see an opportunity to flatten someone, by all means go for it.

Re: Save the Date: TG vs. TGW scrimmage (large)
Unless it's listed, it's not against the rules. Most of the listed rules like "gunships as transports are allowed" are merely me trying to think of things that will be different to expect.
So yes, theoretically they could NASCAR around, though I question the general effectiveness of this.
