Wonderfully clever things you've witnessed recently?

What is the most clever thing you've seen on our server recently?

I think I'm fascinated with this question because cleverness screams of unbridled intellect: winning cleverly requires outsmarting someone, and it hurts a hundred times worse to be outsmarted than to be outshot.

Consider writing a ribbon nomination for the good ones too.

Has been a bit ago but we had this epic Camp G on PAC where the 3 SLs (only remember Kegamo) would be super aggressive. We had central and all ofa sudden I see Squad 2 and 4 taking the upper catwalk route into ruins and spawning their people in there.

Pretty smart move right there.

Re: Wonderfully clever things you've witnessed recently?

I remember this one time I shot an exploding crate..... But really - defending columns on Shingle the enemy took trenches and used it well. They dug in and beat us to a pulp. By digging in first and then starting their firing routine; we could not even get rockets down on them, they stayed alive and gained many kills. All too often Trenches has been left empty and not defended, not this time. The ground attack was repelled as well and so I left to fight at another flag...

That was a few weeks back and I can’t recall who it was, but cheers to you few.

Shooting Zho to 25 or so health, seeing him drop a medkit, chasing him around a corner to see him prone on the floor, dropping a nade at his feet, then running away to kill me and TK Eroak.

Re: Wonderfully clever things you've witnessed recently?

Well it's a very long time ago now (pretty much when I first started gaming on TG) and I somehow got into a squad with (I think) Crux as SL on Belgrade. Our team were losing badly at some point and the SL (Again, I think it was Crux) came up with a plan to spawn bomb all the flags in an FAV. He'd drive to a flag, let 2 people spawn and drop them off, then kept doing it for as many flags as he could. I remember us capturing almost all flags since the enemy were concentrating all their attacks on a few places and we had some quality shooters (not including me of course ) to get rid of stragglers.

I don't remember much else from the round, but I rarely get into really good TG squads and this was really the stand-out moment that made me want to be a part of TG in order to get more experiences like these.

Maybe not the most clever thing but still very awesome

Last night on Tunis I was squad leading and I had Zho, and Kegamo(and two random pubbies) We were constantly hopping flags and destroying everyone we came in contact with. We only got wiped one time on power station.

We must have taken junkyard and eastern 3 or 4 times each by the end of the round and we ended with the highest squad-score by 40 points even though we only had 5 people in the squad and all three stars...fun round, very fun round

Last night or so on Belgrade...
We where on the run, feeld good because we had most of the flags and instead of holding what we have we went all aggressive.. EU side just let us cap most of the flags just to run behind us , cap all our bag flags, taking ponds, ruins, statue and comm-tower... and we where all trapped! They still had forces pushing on Monorail to keep us busy and i could kick myself in the a$$ for being fooled like that. Well to my defends.. i was not sober and quite tired.. but anyway that was damn clever and impressed me quite a lot. Not sure if it was on purpose but damn it worked well

Re: Wonderfully clever things you've witnessed recently?

Last night on Sidi: enemy holding only the first flag out of our UCB (Military Outpost), we held everything else.
I try to meet up with my SL on the next flag (Warehouse), but I need to pass by the first flag. It's mine infested, and there are engineers waiting.
I'm alone, in a tank, with no support.

So I set out, half-strafing with the tank to achieve max speed, and going as close to the water as I can to stay away from Military.
No, sir. They have mines, and no less than 4 engineers waiting for me just beside Military. I'm almost certain I'll go down -- I'm outnumbered and alone. I eat a motion mine, down to 50, and I hear lock on tones. I start desperately strafing toward Warehouse to escape, strafing everywhere, knowing I'm half a second from death. Just then, Mantis sends an Orbital Strike on the engineers trying to Pillum me, and ArmoredBear punches his APC shields in front of me, saving my 13HP Nekomata from sure death.

And there I thought I was absolutely alone
It's so wonderful to see people even notice, and even more wonderful to have them help you in an intelligent and effective manner.

That moment when you're in a gunship and you see friendly units about to be murdered by armor, you swoop down and line up your gunner on that tank, watch the hit and finish it with two rockets, and pull out of the dive through a trail of fire and smoke. Over TS, someone says "whoever's in that gunship, you just saved me". They're the moments I fly gunships for.

I do love those moments =) They are so gratifying, especially when someone says something about it.

A bit of cleverness for me happened yesterday evening on Cerbere. We were on EU, and a PAC squad had broken through to command, and we had no one back to defend it (I think it was Fruvous). I had an orbital up, but probably couldn't take out a running fruvous with it. As he was coming up the east road, I spotted the exploding crates next to the rorsche, and as soon as he neared them, placed the orbital directly on top of them. They blew up, and the SL was insta-gibbed, saving Command from repeated spawn-ins. We kept the base =)

Re: Wonderfully clever things you've witnessed recently?

I think I had 3 orbitals on me that round. Two at CC (both times, CC undefended), one at Roadblock. Please don't run FruvousHate again or I'll cry :'(

One time,
Mr.Jengles, Mr.Ander50n, and Mr.Fruvous did clown cars 3 times at Cerbere

What is pretty fun to do though, is getting past Toll Station on recon, laying down an APM on central doorway and on the catwalk -
1) They die from APM
or
2) They have to crouch and approach slowly (putting distance).

or if rushing Power Station, and the whole other team is there too, I survived long enough to get to the Eastern Docks.
I think I pulled it off 3 times. 1 by buggy, 2 on foot.

I used to do clever things on man vs man duels.. but then I became a SL.

Great posts, keep 'em coming. Quick note though: this is for clever things you've seen others do, not clever things you've done yourself
