Re: VIDEO: Smoke Grenade Comparison
Lets not get this into a PC epenis comparison. Some have good PCs and some have older ones.

Re: VIDEO: Smoke Grenade Comparison
Which setting affects the particles (like smoke)? I lag a lot during orbital strikes, but other gameplay is fine for me.

Meh, sometimes the pictures don't load in FF. Not sure why. Saw it when I reloaded the page.
And that is absolutely pathetic. Why even bother putting it in if it isn't uniform across settings? My opinion of DICE just dropped a few notches.

Re: VIDEO: Smoke Grenade Comparison
Smoke is perhaps the least of your worries. Go to a box or something where you often miss someone because they're hidden in shadows. Take a hard look. Then change your settings to low. Then take a look at that spot again.
Then you'll begin to understand why many of us play with settings on lower than we could with our computers.

Wow, I knew there was a difference but I didn't know it was that big!

It's a huge advantage. There are other places where it makes a difference than mere shadow. When you launch a rocket at someone in high settings, your entire face will be almost completely blocked by the rocket's exhaust. When you do it on lower settings, it basically does nothing to your vision.

Re: VIDEO: Smoke Grenade Comparison
I use almost the same settings Zoraster for the same reasons. I didn't know it affected smoke though, although I should've guessed. Only thought it affected shadows, orbital smoke bullet collision and the such.

Re: VIDEO: Smoke Grenade Comparison
yeah Zoraster has the ones that give you the magical ''best performance''. Though I would go with higher effects as EMP was included or that (if I remember correctly).
I know high geometry makes it more clear but with low texture its easier to spot targets laying down I think.
I wonder how this is between grass/plants then, as I might go for the lower graphics (even if I enjoy the visuals less) diffrence doesn't seem eye hurting and you gain minor advantage.
Sounds like what someone with ''bad computer'' would say :P

Re: VIDEO: Smoke Grenade Comparison
Yeah, I suppose if I drove more vehicles, I might try effects higher, but with it low like that, it minimizes how much rockets and the like block my vision after I fire them.
