Idea: Community Data Gathering Project
The idea is simple: after each round, record the following information in a thread:
- The Date and Time the map was played
- The map name, size, and tickets each side started with.
- The amount of tickets left on each side at round end
- The time left in that round
For what purpose is this?
To get solid, truthful, transparent data we can all reference when talking about our rotations.
Why is this a community effort? The more of us contribute data, the clearer picture we'll all have.
Format?
One thread. Each post is a round (or several rounds) with the above information. After some time, I can compile the information to a spreadsheet, and present things like:
- Average infantry round length vs average armor round length (do armor rounds last longer, or is there less action in the same period of time?)
- Average tickets lost per minute played on a map with regard to bleed setup of that map
- How often one team wins by more than 100 tickets (possibly to infer how prevalent teamstacking is)
My interpretation (or anyone else's for that matter) would be elsewhere: the focus is on getting organized, impartial data in one centralized place.
Do ya'll think this is a good idea?
I think we can gather a lot of very useful information this way, and settle a lot of arguments.
