Fake TG tags?

I was talking to a TG supporting member on BF2142 about some people wearing TG tags but not following rules. He told me that some people with TG tags aren't really TG supporting members. I was surprised that players with Fake TG tags would still be able to play. Because not only are they making idiots of themselves they make TG look bad also. Is this a common issue?

Re: Fake TG tags?

Welcome to TG.

Anyone that agrees to follow our server rules, primer, and code of conduct may wear our tags. Being a supporting (paying) member is not required.

And yes, there are people that wear the tags and have never once visited these forums and have absolutely no idea what the tags represent.

Re: Fake TG tags?

shouldn't you be concerned about that if they decide to totally disgrace the tatical gamer rules and conduct?

If they do, they are most likely going to get banned because when wearing the TG tags you are being held to higher standards and thus, punished more harshly for transgressions.

Re: Fake TG tags?

I thought this thread was going to be about phony IHS tags... I remember I got reported three times the week after the founding of the 101st for phony tags. What a riot.

Anyway, as Lorax said, a lot of people wear our tags that shouldn't but they eventually get weeded out.

Wait.... really? I can wear the tags as long as I do what I've been doing all along?
Done and done!

People whose purpose is destructive, intentional or not, do not persist, and do not prevail. They may gain temporary successes, but their work will not have a lasting impression. They will not build a community of thousands of people brought together in a common pursuit of mature and tactical play. For that type of work, virtues opposite of destruction are necessary: character, patience, and perseverance.

And more plainly -- how should we deal with people who misuse our tags, or publically accuse us of things we do not do, and do not stand for?
Do we hunt them down, and pursue them, and feed the trolls?

Or do we point them, calmly and politely, to our server, our squads, OUR PEOPLE, so that those who care to know the truth can find out for themselves. And do we show them that maturity stands for a step and measure above "eye for an eye", of simple retalliation, and we teach them what the tags stand for and what WE stand for.

Ultimately, it's simple: we're community built on character. We're not exclusive, we're not elitists, and we don't hunt down people who don't know better. Foremost, we're here for maturity.
