No mic. Check it. Image heavy.....
IDS crash. I got kicked. like game froze an everything. I came back in an remade my no mic squad. I typed in chat prior to crash saying that I would SL but the cat chewed my cord in half. I made one since no one wanted to and they joined up. The IDS crash kicked me and when I got back on everyone in my squad left it. i remade it and all them came back. The game was NOT restarted and check what we were able to do even though we lost. Big props to them for folling close and my move orders, defense orders and beign able to quickly read my tells in the In game Chat. Big props to them all.
No mic Commanding. Big props to Latina's squad for doing everything I typed and following my orders.

Nicely done Belander, squad members and squad leaders. The close scores certainly make it look like it was a close round. Close rounds = fun rounds.
Side note: After Action Report section?

I don't think I joined 'til after your little freezing problem, but... I'll happily follow a silent SL who places logical, frequently updated orders and backs them up with various forms of support, which is exactly what you did. In fact, I prefer that to a SL who lips on and on without giving the least bit of guidance, which is happily rare on the TG server!

Thank you Kneesocks. I was very impressed by everyones abilities and the patience to work with a micless SL. Most likely I will continue to be without a mic for a short while so Q spot orders, move markers and following closely to me are going to be the key if your in my squad in the near and coming future.

Not to beat this down. Anyone willing to CO and does it somewhat right deserves something. But screensshots don't serve us to much as a community without insight. Information might turn this into something even better.
If I may suggest; Anyone in TG that SLs or COs usally does it with a mic. But there are a few times where we finds ourselves unable to speak or without a working mic. I know Ion has ran into that problem. How does one effectively lead without a MIC and chatspam?

Re: No mic. Check it. Image heavy.....
Give instructions during pre-round.
this was pretty successful.
I've done this with 2 people who are familiar with my tactics, and 3 pubbies who followed teamwork surprisingly well.
Q-Spot + Move = Rockets/engage
Move command = Move here
Move command (in the middle of nowhere): Enemy tanks.
Move command -> Attack command : Attack this position, approaching from this direction.
I've wanted to try this as a safer alternative to QSpot+Movecommand:
Pageup+Move = Move here
Pagedown+Move = Enemies here
If anyone wonders why I mike-check EVERY time I go on, it's because there's almost ALWAYS something wrong with my mic.
It also helps to have SMs who read the SL-text for the preround plan... sorta like.. reverse dictating??
Fruvous <chat>: I need blah blah. Volunteers?
Gorhaut: It appears that our SL needs blah blah. Volunteers?
SM: Me!

I see Insun - as a team we are unbeatable ! Throwing "Tactical Armor Only Thursday" where you may only act if you are in Armor. If you are on foot you need to wait for the next Armor spawn and may not fire

Re: No mic. Check it. Image heavy.....
Although I never SL, I too have a deeply sketchy mic (more of a sound card issue, really), so I sympathize.
My suggestion would be to *always* have a current order, whether move or attack/defend. Even if you want people to keep doing what they're doing, reset the same order frequently... Otherwise, whether it makes sense or not, people start to assume that they are "done" with that order and start to wander. You can't verbally keep the goal fresh in people's minds, so let the little attack/defend/move lines keep us on the straight and narrow. Some of us have the attention span of a mosquito and tend to flit off if we aren't reined in.

I agree Kneesocks, if you don't have a mic then "Move Markers" should be your best friend.
And Lyra, as always you're a man with a plan

Hand signals, and good SM's means a mute SL not so much a problem, dosnt help, but dosnt hurt so bad either.
N1 Belander, got the same problen with my mic from time to time, but its my kids chewing on it

This is a very interesting problem to over come when leading wihtout being able to verbally communicate with your subordinates. Prior to game start I type in chat what I would like each squad to do right off the bat. In this case of COing Latina was going straight for Junk right off the bat. I placed the UAV inbetween Junk and power to support the junk rush squad and the Power squad. I zoomed in and wathed to see where vehicles were going and armor aka the walker. Spotted them out and made it a priority to lock down the walker with support of Latinas SM support emping it. In tandom her squad was albe to take down the walker with small arms. The squad that hit east I had stay and defend typing to watch for a buggie from the back side placing a move marker where the buggie that was rushing there was goign to come out. The power squad/squads I gave 1 order to one squad to post on the west side of the flag while power squad 2 swarmed the flag. I had a sniper squad consisting of 2 snipers that I typed and placed 2 seperate move arders askign for positioning and covering fire onto junk cverign teh boat and far west of junk fence. I also asked in chat for them to Q spot and keep infantry and vehicle movements updated as often as possible. I had a floatign squad that I had running all over the place moving from flag to containers to boat to flag to junk to east to power exct. exct. giving support to squads that were directly responsable to defending a certian flag.
With all the constant updates in move and defend and attack orders the squads kept up under great leader ship from there SLs. Was a great fight.

Q-spot commands and move/attack/defend orders are a god sent with no mic. When defending an my squad starts to stray out I replace the defense order 1-3 times until the fall back and form back up while typing in chat the same order 1-3 times backign up the order I jsut gave as to reinforce my leadership in the squad so no one gets to lonewolfish and just becomes a lost ticket. When the CO says over chat that there are enemys coming form a certain area i quickly place a move order in that general location and use Q spot to follow me 2-3 times with the Go, Go, Go Q spot to reinforce urgency to the situation and to get everyoen to turn and react as quick as possible. I find it a tricky yet fun challenge to over come to SL or CO with no mic and find it deeply satisfying when everyoen works together and overcomes this minor lose in 1 form of communication while increaseing and utilizing the other in game forms of communicating.
