    Use of the tagging system

Tactical Gamer strives to be a mature gaming community; a place where adults can enjoy playing games and interacting with other like-minded mature individuals. Unfortunately not everyone on these forums are upholding their end of the deal and feel the need to abuse the tagging system.

The purpose of thread tags is categorization. This allows users to locate and read similar topics.

It's been mentioned by the admins on several occasions to cut this out. Some didn't listen. So here's what I'm going to do. Below are several of the questionable tags. If you created these tags here is your opportunity to own up to them. Send me a PM identifying which tags you created.

Angry Re: Use of the tagging system

It is sad in a mature community like TG, to see this kind of behaviour by our members.

It is sad when Eroak had posted so many threads for the use of tags.

It is sad that Asch is now involved and I believe he is very angry.

    Why can't control ourselfs?

If anyones like to comment or make satire / humor / bad jokes, just write it on the post body.

Then face the consequences of your own writing.

    Dare?

I thought the problems with the tags was more down to inappropriate, controversial or insulting things that people added. I didn't realise the silly ones were a problem. My apologies, I'll do all I can to restrain my natural instincts of silliness in the future.

And then you see the tags other people made for this thread...some people just can't help but be silly.

and disrespectful. In my opinion, there are definitely silly topics where a silly tag is okay. This would not be one of those.

Agreed. People who have put the questionable tags on this thread evidently don't understand the gravity of the situation.

Re: Use of the tagging system

TBH I don't think it's the lack of understanding for "the gravity of the situation" that's disappointing, after all these are just forum tags. What's wrong is the fact that people, after given clear instructions by the admins just go straight against that, which undermines them, and is just outright disrespectful and definitely immature. What's even worse is they're doing it anonymously, I'm guessing for sort of laugh. Kinda reminds me of how I used to break rules at school only when the teacher's back was turned - pre-pubescence was a fun time.

I believe the admins have already said that the tags can be tracked, so it's not as if they need people to confess to find the offenders. I suppose this is more a chance to own up and apologize for disrespecting the system before punishments get dealt out.

Pengie means to say -> Don't try to make the situation worse because they already know who you are.

They can only be found by actually going into the database itself. The mod tools themselves don't allow it. Only Apo can do that and he's only posted twice since June.

Hence the request for people to turn themselves in.

EDIT: I stand corrected. It seems that mods can see who entered tags. I learned something new. Now give me a moment while I go back to ban Santa from Focused.

    As you were
