TG-3rd Has Two Spots Available
The Thunderbolts have two spots available on their roster.
Who are the 3rd and why should you join them?
One could start by reading our entry in the tactical wiki, which is right here.
But the short of it is we are a team dedicated to constant improvement and a commitment to excellence while still having loads and loads of fun playing BF2142.
Who are we looking for?
People who are mature, fun and have a willingness to work on their game and teamwork. Although we've had some of the best shooters in TG within our ranks, the 3rd was founded on a core of teamwork - that a squad of individuals working closely together with extremely high discipline can overcome a group of more talented individuals.
This means a willingness to put your ego aside and learn. To put your ego aside and follow orders in combat without question, argument or discussion. And yet still keep enough ego to play with the confidence and swagger of knowing you're a deserved member of one of the best IHSs TG has to offer in any title.
Don't you guys practice every night for hours on end?
Our practices are sporadic. In general moving forward you could expect one or two practices and one match per week. You don't have to be at every practice, or every match. In fact making one 'event' per week is just fine in our book (and when real life intrudes, making none is just fine). At the end of the day this is a game, and we're all mature adults who have responsibilities more important that killing digital representations of strangers online
We always keep that in perspective.
Where do I sign up?
You send a PM to Crux. You let him know that you are interested, and you include some times during the next week or two that you could commit to playing in order to do a tryout.
We are picky. We don't accept 'provisional recruits' or let people in on a probationary period. Don't expect to play one night with us and get an invite. That may work for other IHSs, but we have extremely low turnover for a reason - we are a close knit group and any new member has to fit into that group.
The thing is though, if you do earn the honor of putting on 3rd tags you have earned it. It is an accomplishment.
What if I'm already in an IHS?
Then let the leadership of your current IHS know what you're doing. Everyone needs to find the right fit for them - a team that matches up with their wants and needs and expectations. If you are the current leader of another IHS (and yes we have had one try out before! :d) then you should let your team know you are trying out and why.
What about the footrubs?
Spur does usually give footrubs to the newer members of the team. This is not a guarantee and should not be your reason for joining. Rumors of 'happy endings' are exaggerated.
Again, PM Crux if you are interested in joining. If not, have a great day!

Lol, Lyra.
Hey Crux, you wanna write a recruiting thread for us too? You're so good at it...
Seriously though, there is still a prestige that hangs around the 3rd that few other IHSs have. If you do make it, as Crux said, it's an accomplishment. Happy hunting!

Re: TG-3rd Has Two Spots Available
Arg, I'd love to join an IHS, but I won't have any spare money to donate to become a supporting member for a month, and once I do have that money... I probably won't have access to my computer!
Playing as: |TG| Merkov
Now playing with the TG prefix because, according to oniell121, doing very stupid things with alarming frequency isn't a good enough reason not to wear them...

Re: TG-3rd Has Two Spots Available
Ah-ha thats where Kelvin was for 6months, it all comes clear to me now!
But seriously the 3rd is a great bunch and I wouldn't waste an opportunity such as this if you feel you'd fit their ranks
And many EU players might wonder why you guys don't have (almost?) any players from here, is there reason for this, as we (Euro timers) rarely get to enjoy gaming with you guys nowdays :/Last edited by Mixa; 10-21-2009 at 03:08 PM. Reason: Kelvin is worse than my old english teacher

(Shudders) Beat will probably want the foot rub to music, and I am about as musically inclined as a coon hound.
