Re: Knife Fighting Honor Deteriorating
It is my opinion that the default order for trying to kill people is primary weapon/equipment->pistol->grenades thrown at the floor->trying to reload->knives.
He was told that he should not kill, and he did not kill, until he got into the Army. Then he was told to kill, and he killed.

Re: Knife Fighting Honor Deteriorating
I only knife if the opportunity presents itself but I don't go out of my way. Otherwise I'm not only wasting my time but that of the squad.

Re: Knife Fighting Honor Deteriorating
Yes, Flip, and then I laugh as his APM blows you up a moment later.

In all seriousness, though, the knife is best served for those moments where you a) have an enemy who is unaware of your presence (not just snipers - there are some who use the Recon kit who are NOT that vulnerable or helpless and will gladly make you pay if you try for their tags), b) you are in a close-combat fight and both you and your enemy are reloading, and c) you have teammates behind you who can revive you and conditions a or b are met.
Speaking from experience, as many have come for my tags before (but few have succeeded), I find that a charging man with a knife is best dealt with by a Clark to the face.
They quickly learn that it is best to engage you from a distance after that.

Re: Knife Fighting Honor Deteriorating
I will shoot someone trying to knife if there are to many enemies around or if I have no time to pull mine out, but if I hear a swipe and they miss or see someone comming at me and its just us I will entertain them by pulling out mine, (thats what she said). Srry couldnt help that 1

But it is fun sometimes and tactically it is quiet but thats the only advantage I see for using it. That or shaving, gota look good for those TG ladies

Re: Knife Fighting Honor Deteriorating
An even more general rule of "Blade engagement" is "to never bring a knife to a gun fight."
Also, running at someone with a knife is not implying challenge, the implication is "I'm going to kill you and get your tags as a trophy" and the usual response given is a hail of bullets with big lettered FU's branded into them. And rightly so!
If you want to knife fight someone then it really has to be agreed upon beforehand.

Re: Knife Fighting Honor Deteriorating
And how exactly is taking the time away from your squad's orders to engage in a pre-ordained knife fight contributing to the goals of the team? How is it enhancing teamwork? How is that tactical?
Knife fights have no place on the TG conquest server. Pulling your knife after you've exhausted all other options is not a knife fight, it is desperation.

Re: Knife Fighting Honor Deteriorating
I don't use the knife for reasons that everyone else has stated.
I prefer goal- and teamwork-oriented gameplay.
If someone runs at me with a knife, I'll just shoot and move on.
Be done with it in 1 second, no time wasted

Re: Knife Fighting Honor Deteriorating
I have zero dog-tags to my name and I'm quite happy with that - I have lost count of the amount of times that I have had the opportunity to knife unsuspecting prey and I always take more enjoyment from watching them flounder in a hail of my bullets.
If I see an enemy running at me with a knife then school's in and I'm going to punch their ticket.
