Pulse Meter
So as I am unlocking things in the support kit I discovered the greatness of the pulsemeter. A tool most people don't consider or bother with compared to IDS and other tools. While I usually agree I think it's a VERY useful tool when you're options are limited. Especially when people are located in building like in Belgrade, for example, and you want to know exact locations. But that's more of a tactic issue.
This thread however is about the pulse meter not working. Often I will join the server and use it to my hearts desire giving myself and my squad useful intel to help us do our jobs.
However after a certain point it simply stops working completely. Even after a map ends it won't work on the following maps. Am I alone dealing with this issue? Is this a server related thing?

Re: Pulse Meter
Actually, I have no idea what would cause that. I'm sure I've unlocked that, but I don't think I've ever used it to be honest.

Re: Pulse Meter
Looks to me like you donīt have enough knowledge of the Netbat System.
Pulsemeter = 180° front arc Otus Drone
- You DO need a Support in your Squad with the Support helmet unlock for it to show Diamonds in the HUD
- You DO need a Recon with the Helmet unlock in your Squad for it to show Minimap dots

Re: Pulse Meter
I think he means the pulse meter. Both the pulse meter and otus do the same thing, just the pulse meter is only a 180 degree arc in front of you and manual. Does it break after you have connected to a different server?
Not to derail but does spanky lock onto diamonds placed by the pulse meter and otus?Posted by Deterhek:

Re: Pulse Meter
The pulse meter can open up new doors as a SL. I personally rarely use the otus as it's just a huge SHOOT HERE sign in my opinion. However, the Pulse Meter could serve in that stead if you're assaulting a flag or for occasional scanning when you don't want the SL to be noticed. Just a thought.

Re: Pulse Meter
Oh my, so the Pulse Meter also puts dots on your minimap when there's a recon in your squad? I already liked the Pulse Meter, but now I like it even more
. I can't believe how often this piece of equipment is overlooked and this new information makes even more amazed at how little the Pulse Meter is used. If you had a Support with an IDS and a Pulse Meter (hopefully with a recon in your squad too) you'd probably literally be kicked for wallhacking...so much intel overkill...mmmm

Re: Pulse Meter
Liek I said - the Pulsemeter behaves like a 180° front arc otus including dots and diamonds

Re: Pulse Meter
Sad thing is that it doesnt update. (:C) But I love this weapon if you put the IDS and this together with the shotgun it has to be my favorite combo.

Re: Pulse Meter
No, Odus/pulse diamonds and a 'snapshot' of the battlefield. They'll linger for a few seconds in the same position as when the picture was taken, thus the data is out of date after that moment, the farther from that picture, the more likely someone is from that diamond and why you often don't see people on these still diamonds.
Tracking diamonds the godsend to BF2142 and combat of any form. Track appear after your squadmates or yourself have been looking at a target on center (IE: targeting reticle, crosshair) for 1.5 continuous seconds. It seems to be about .5 seconds in vehicles. The tracking diamonds also appear with the support helmet unlock when a recon within 15 meters cloaks or uncloaks within range of that support. The recon unlock will also have these diamonds appear longer once you are no longer looking at the target.
These tracking diamonds are the targets the Odus will lock onto and engage. It will never engage heavy armor diamonds.
