    @_@;;

    Wow.

I feel sooooo outclassed. Here I am playing with the mouse that came in my comp's box, a Microsoft 'Natural' Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 (which makes switchin to nades a pain since theres a 1 inch gap down the keyboard between 6 and 7) and as for audio I got a pair of Sony MDR-X200 headphones with a no-name headset with a mic around my neck for my microphone...
Good Luck. You're gonna need it ^_^

Mouse: logitech trackman (only coz I'm really pushed for space but with some tweeking it can pass muster and is really comfortable for extended gaming periods).

Keyboard: standard logitech model, it's next on my list for upgrade.

Headset: Creative HS-1000 Fatal1ty. A truly awesome product. First time I used these I nearly lost my fillings. Positional audio is superb and I can wear them comfortably for hours.

Speakers: I don't have a dedicated set, I put my pc through my music centre. I really only use this setup for mp3 and spotify at parties.

Lol! I don't have anything fancy, I just have the stock Dell keyboard and the stock Dell corded mouse and they work just fine. I love my headset though, it's a sennheiser 161 (maybe 151, don't remember) And I would recommend it to anyone who needs a headset. The audio is crystal, the mic has good pickup and filtering, it's sturdy, and is pretty comfortable but sits different than a normal headset. It's only about $60 and that's a great price for what you get.

Re: What kind of mouse/keyboard/speakers/headphones combo do you use?

    Hello!

I have been gaming on PC for well over a decade now, I am no "Leet" gamer or anything but I find that I use the same keyboard and mouse that I did about ten years ago.

My keyboard is a generic Microsoft keyboard that I got for 9 bucks, works perfectly.
About two years ago my intellimouse 1.0 died on me so I got a Intellimouse explorer 3.0.
I have no idea what DPI it has, I just like the feel of it.

I just recently got a headset when I started playing BF2142 here on TG. I bought a Creative Fatal1ty headset.
It looks like it has a built in lasershow and I am pretty sure it dispences caffeine pills. Anyhow it works.

I don't know about you all, but if I were to change mouse and or keyboard my accuracy would drastically decrease.

    Koss headset

@Lien as earlier posters have said about gaming pad, in the beginning your performance will drop, once your used to your new equipment it will increase. But that depends on how big your wallet is and how min/max fixated you are

So damn true. I've yet to get used to my new equipment. I can barely select weapons, reload or shoot with a completely new mouse and keyboard. But when muscle memory starts to rewire it'll be lots of death for all of you, mwahahaha.

OMG! Once you get used to a game pad, and the muscle memory you mention takes over, you can't believe how quickly you operate all the aspects of the game. In 2142, I primarily run Assault/Medic, and put a very high priority on getting revives...even if they are laying out in the open, under fire. With my old keyboard, I would almost always die trying to cross the open ground, pull my defib, hit the body and pull my Voss to cover the newly revived team mate. I played with the standard keyboard for quite some time, so I was pretty used to the key layouts, but I could guarantee that I would miss the defib/main gun buttons often.

With my N52te, I have my primary weapon, secondary weapon, defib and med hub on the directional cross button, and I NEVER miss anymore. Plus, my thumb is always over the top of that cross, so it is lightning quick to switch between the defib and Voss now. I can much more effectively lay down suppression fire while I run to team mates bodies, quickly switch to the defib without even having to give it much thought, zap the body almost without stopping, and be right back on the Voss laying lead into the enemy in a flash.

Gamepad sounds difficult. I'll stick with the Powerglove.

My favorite thing about the n52te is the crispness of the keyboard-like buttons.

But off topic, when ever I see this thread abbreviated in the main forums as "What kind of..." all I can think of is this.

Your barracuda worked for you? I had one and the sound quality was fantastic plus it was extremely comfortable but the little inch long mic did not do anything. I had to replace the whole headset with a logitech because nobody could hear me even with the full computer mic boost and volume settings at max. Many people online had the same issue so I'm amazed it works for you.
