Sunday I hopped on the server for
Sunday I hopped on the server for a few games. So Camp G went on and we were defending. I wanted to block the enemy team into their uncap.... but of course many people would think "awesomly tactical" and spawn TOLL.
So... I faked it !
I created a "TOLL !!!" Squad but told all my Squadmates to spawn at Harbour nontheless... lol The round starts. Only 3 People spawn at Tollstation - EPIC! Enemy buggies get blown in a tight Harbour defense. We bleed the PACs ticket advantage out and get the upper hand. Some enemies tried to sneak thru but got cought. Sadly after some time our Commander paniced and sent too many people to catch the breaks. So we lost Harbour and went into the Tollstation Grind /sadpanda
First off gg to my Squad. Second... I see a right Harbour defense as a win/win situation. Either you will gain an epic victory and/or bleed them out for a good time OR the enemy will actually make a break and get into the more interesting parts of the map - thus minimising a Tollstation standoff scenario.

Well its a good idea in theory ( and it looks like itīs working fine ) but for some reason i canīt lose the feeling your fooling your entire team. I donīt think you can say in general that spawning on back-flags is bad ( sure more defender on the first flag = bleeding more tickets away) but that depends on the enemy team and your team as well. I have seen rounds where almost the entire team was still at Harbor or toll while EU-Base and Ruins getting capped and the game ended in a cap out.
If you want everybody to spawn on the first flag go CO and order them to do so or tell the SL to go to the SL-SL channels on TS or type it out ingame.
Donīt take me wrong itīs a good idea but instead of talking to your team and explain them or tell them why to spawn at the first flag you simply fool them.

PAC's central strategy on these maps is - Remove bleed as quickly as possible.
Conversely, EU's central strategy is - keep PAC under bleed as long as possible.
For EU, ANYTHING that detracts from this is evil. Including a full squad spawning at Toll or Roadblock "just in case" they break through. It's a self-defeating move, because handing PAC the first flag quickly and easily is just as bad as a breakthrough.
I agree 100% with you Spiff and i was not talking about a full squad spawing back in their is good 100% of the time. ( i donīt even thing that it is good ever ) but you canīt deny the awesomeness of motion-mines back at Tollstation

mine/RDX Harbour properly and those mines go to waste
Note to COs: make sure you're not ambiguous in mine assignment. Bit me in the butt last night when I tried to do a Harbor-heavy defense -- I said "Mine Harbor" but I never explicitly assigned a squad to do it.
