Re: Exclusive Squads?
It does not bother me in the slightest, I just enjoy playing on the server with so many different people from different cultures and beliefs who all come together and play as a Team, and that's got to mean something, does it not?

Re: Exclusive Squads?
my opinion(which if you add a dollar to it MIGHT get you a cup of coffee in a cheap diner): I don't think anyone can accuse me of running a locked squad b/c I rarely SL, but I got no prob with the locked squads frome time to time. If I can't get in I wait for another or form my own.
If your squad is locked, I figure you've got a reason - whatever it may be. I know most of the people who play when I do and I figure you're just into something particular at that time. no biggie, I'll catch up with you another time. Sometimes I like to play with my IHS mates, and sometimes i just get good a mixed squad going for a few rounds and want to keep it together because we're sharing a good time. That's it. Its not a reflection on anyone else. Some of my favorite gamers may be locked out even. It may have nothing to do with a particular tactic even. It's just not the time right now for something different. It may be later, but not now.I got yer Dancing With the F**&ing Stars right here!!

Re: Exclusive Squads?
It really comes down experience in the game and what you like to play depending on it i feel.
If you like to SL alot you'll do that. If you like to play with your old ihs mates you'll do that. If you like to always play SM you'll do that. It's really up to you and i think it's perfectly fine. Most important thing is for us is to have fun with the game and respect how people enjoy playing this game.

Re: Exclusive Squads?
Yeah I lock my squad initially to get a couple of peeps I want in otherwise the thing fills up too fast and I end up kicking someone which I do feel bad about.. but I always unlock it (infrantry Squad)
But I would have to say there are times when there are 4 Squads.. and three are full.. and the 4th is locked and I'm kinda bummed because I don't feel like starting another squad and SLing.... just want to be a soildier for the round.
But if you gotta .. if you are the type of SL who only wants certain people in there squad..... leave it unlocked anyway and keep kicking people who you don't want..... they'll get the message eventually... you'll piss off enough, and create bad blood like this thread.
Personally I don't care who I fight with as long as they fight as a squad & follow orders.... so anyone and everyone is always welcome in my squad unless we're doing an IHS thang

Re: Exclusive Squads?
I don't squad lead much but when i do its usually to play with one one my friends from real life. If i don't get in a squad i want to be in, then i just think....i have 5 hours left to play i'll probably get in one of those times.....and most of the time i do. So just have patience. But the whole, "being rude" thing i've never seen that. They usually just say "no" or something kind like that. And again to what superfast said, do watevers funnest for you, but still helping the team.

Re: Exclusive Squads?
This would be the worst solution of them all. You can see what happens already over normal locked Squads. Imagine people getting directly KICKED out of them. Now that is hard to not take personal. But if you gotta .. if you are the type of SL who only wants certain people in there squad..... leave it unlocked anyway and keep kicking people who you don't want.....

I was being sarcastic about kicking people//

I think that was the worst attempt at sarcasm ever on the internet.
^that is not sarcasm
Even if the rest of the quote was included, all the words in that sentence don't hint at any sarcasm at all.Reapator, overlord of ponies

Re: Exclusive Squads?
All I can say is, don't worry, be happy. If I don't get into a TG squad I just start my own and then some random pub players can join in. As long as they do what I say and follow like a regular squad (which happens on the TG server in about 95%) I'm good, and in a lot of cases you meet rather funny people, sometimes drunk, sometimes clueless, but always fun to play with.
Although when a few friends of mine are on, I make a locked squad with some random name, and we always go recon.˝Memento audere semper˝

Re: Exclusive Squads?
Those exclusive squads are what make the game exciting for me, in fact I'll switch teams if I see a bunch of those Mth guys or Slaya guys on my team cause I know I'll get a good fight. However, I think locking squads is lame...but that's just my humble opinion. Unless it's for a reason of course, i.e. APC, Walker, etc. I can understand that.
If you think you're so good then play with non-TGers. Get your rear out of the APC and try doing an attack rather than defend. Yes, you know who you are, you log when you are on the attacking team or can't get your hands on an APC to run up your KvD. Oh, there aren't enough of your twitchy friends on so it will be rough going...no problem, log off so you don't look bad.

Re: Exclusive Squads?
Now that's just lame and I can't say how much I hate that sort of behaviour. Though I do log off after 5 real bad rounds or so, but not because my KDR will get down, but also because I know I won't do my team a favor (or because the team isn't doing me enough favors (think ''no squadplay'')).
Also, I only lock squads because of vehicle related issues or at the beginning of a round to invite some people in. After that, anyone can join, as long as they do as I tell them to. True, if some guy who screwed up the few rounds before, he can be assured I won't like him, but I will forgive and only kick when he doesn't follow orders that round. To see an IHS lock up at 3 people (which I've seen only once where they went cloak-recon) wouldn't be appreciated by most people. It's a signature...

Re: Exclusive Squads?
I will lock my squads. Why? Over the year and a half that I've been at TG, I've met quite a few people that I love to play with and I like to do so. I run open squads also, and my squads are usually a invite/free join mix.
But I understand the plight; when I first joined, I never got into the locked squads. So I made my own and slowly but surely got recognized and invited. Soon enough, people were asking to be in my squad.
In conclusion: yes, it can be frustrating and yes, a full team of locked squads can hurt a team or potentially help one. In my mind, there is nothing wrong with locked squads, but, open squads with TG players is how the community grows.
