Re: bf2 Vanilla or POE anyone?
BF2's mods (PoE, AIX, OPK) are great, no doubt. But there are couple bad things that make playing in these mods almost unbearable:
few servers/few people playing on it;
you don't know for sure is PB running there (hacks&cheats may happen more likely, no TK's global bans);
EA doesn't support any BF mod, that means no official statistics, no points, no medals and badges, no new ranks and unlocks you'll get while playing at any mod server;
there are "ranked" mod servers, but there is only local statistics not global, and it can easily get lost (it's not big problm though, coz there are no unlocks in BF2's mods);
although every mod has a huge map pack, in a couple of weeks or months it's getting extremely borring because of the same few people running across the same set of huge 64player maps (pitiful spectacle, imo)...
Threre is no better than vanilla and SF (if we talk about BF2). I prefer any public server where my ping not more than 200 with at least fifty players on it (only on crowded server you can feel and hear "real war" - big bangs constantly
), what's more I always can change playing style from squad to lone wolf and back, it can be very useful when you getting tired of stupid orders of your SL and Com
..
So I say to mods "no" now. And.. it'll sound like some crime in this place, but I would suggest sometimes step away of "TG style of playing", in vanilla/SF it looks ridiculous, coz BF for the most part is arcade (if you're not in a tournamet of course). The real squad game is PR, that's why it's so different.. and borring (fo me!)
Cheers!

Re: bf2 Vanilla or POE anyone?
Real war in BF2 means a whole lotta unorganized assaulting?
I've rarely had any orders unless in a TG squad to be honest...
Can't *beep* handle *bzzt* ridiculity *memory error, please replace processor*
True, it has arcade aspects. Reviving for example. It's not made to be a projection of reality. THAT is what we have PR for. BF2 is made with squad play in mind, that's why there's the quite good squad system. If you want squad play (the way the game is meant to be), go TG. If you want reality resemblance, go PR. If you want to run around like a beheaded chicken, go vanilla random server.
I hardly play any BF2 anymore, unless I'm with some TG guys like BeSiege. But then it's not vanilla, then it's TG in vanilla

Re: bf2 Vanilla or POE anyone?
You so funny virtual hero
I said what I said, keep your sniffles away if you don't want to be always complaining "squad person", like "that bloody non-squad noob killed me twentieth time, he's hacking"
Most part of people around the world don't want to play BF as squad like game, and even if they join squads they don't listen much silly SLs&Comms. In public servers nobody knows nobody, why should I trust some virtual "SL", ah? I played BF almost a year, played public on different servers and I saw such cool "noobs" who never joint any squad, and they were still a part of blue command, a best part of it. It's reality, people don't want to play "squad game", they justa want to get fun. You call it "noobs", ah-ha-ha
they sh..t on this and continuing get max fun
I played TG style before, I liked it and there were reasons I quit. For me it's borring to play TG style every round, but I stiil play sometime like this and can be a good SM. TG taught me couple things, thanks to it anyway.. It's democratic US forum, right? I have expressed my opinion. Better stay calm lone wolf and sometimes get virtual fun than ecstatic squad-noob counting down his virtual wins which mean nothing when you come out your home, complaining all over the game

Any how, lets move past those distracting posts and get back to the advertisement... If you hop on the server, why don't you let us know by posting in this thread.

Re: bf2 Vanilla or POE anyone?
...
If your playing on TG servers, your playing by TG standards or you leave. Its pretty simple. There's a fine line of what TG is, teamwork and maturity. If you dont have both then your more then welcome to play here when your willing to take up both parts.
I've said it a thousand times, your squad isn't doing anything? Thats my job to handle and you need to make it apperent to me that they are failing at their duties. This is TG and I will enforce that standard.
Lastly, this forum is privately owned. Moderation can be enforced as needed by the site admins and mods. Its not common to envoke cencership or management, but it does happen to keep these forums on track. This is TG, not a sandbox.The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.

Re: bf2 Vanilla or POE anyone?
You have to get me to blow my war horn on my mountain top if you want TG's BF2 server populated... You need to use your xfire, steam, and TS if you want to get the guys to join the fight...
Yes, as some of you know, I have a ram's horn and the first time I blew it, we got the server filled with about 12 people...
Point of Existence 2... it is a great mod for bf2, though we lack some people, so we have Tuesdays and Fridays as our POE nights...
