Discussion: Battlefield 2142 / Battlefield 2142 - General Discussion - 3rd SFD or any other high level squad videos? - Hey, just wondering if there is some place I can view video replays of squads
Hey, just wondering if there is some place I can view video replays of squads that have trained a lot and practice together. I'm curious to see how these units interact and play in the game and was hoping to find some videos particularly on the 3rd SFD.
Search youtube for TG2142 or tactical gamer. I'm not sure what's there from the 2142 area, but you'll find videos of squad play from all the other games.
We never really made any videos of us in competition or stuff like that sadly. Recording and getting VoIP functioning properly always took a couple of extra steps, and the performance hit wasn't welcome when we were competing.
As for how we played and interacted, we did a few basic drills. It really came down to knowing maps well and relying on each other Reviving was also a a very huge key to victory; knowing where the person was, who killed them, if they were safe to revive, and how long it'd take to get there and revive them. Clearing the area to revive someone is something is lost on the majority of players and really shows when tickets are lost.
Sorry I couldn't help more. If you're looking for something a bit more hands on, the M-th (a lot of older 3rd members) will be playing 2142 more and more when 1.51 finally rolls out. A few of us play now and then, and hopefully all of us will be on when the patch comes out.

Haha, thanks oniell but that's exactly what I did. That's just every day average squad play. Not saying it's a bad thing, but I wanted to see how squads that put a lot of work into being good played. I'm just curious if it's really worth it since that's something I always want to be apart of, but never have the time to do so.

This post helps a lot. Even though it doesn't have a video link, you do tell me how the squad basically played. So it is very informative. Thank you.

Look for some of ExplodingSilver's videos (it was Silver who did all those, wasn't it?) or MrLyramion's YouTube channel. Both should have some educational and occasionally amusing videos.
my 2142 youtube vids are now on the BattlefieldSquadplay channel here
lots of squadplay vids for you there, all with talking teamwork
they dont fulfill your requirement of IHS practice though, as I always ran open squads in the euro hrs, kinda like learn TG squads
Pfft, why would you want to get videos of the 3rd? Buncha punks, in my opinion. Didn't do nothin useful but kill each other. Look at it for yourself: http://vimeo.com/1643469
Goddamn shame those guys were ever a part of TG.
Eroak had a secret contest going with Reaper. How many times he could tk you and make you think it was on accident, and Reaper had the ceremonial knifing of Anospa prior to scrims.
At the end, Eroak got very blatant, but more and more funny!
Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
