Discussion: Battlefield 2142 / Battlefield 2142 - General Discussion - A new ways to seed the server - Instead of seeding the server seed teamspeak!
Join teamspeak and then go play on whatever
Join teamspeak and then go play on whatever the server you like. Somebody will eventually join teamspeak and then alert all the players on whatever server they may be on that we have enough to seed our server.
All players and then join our server and get it going.
Best idea since the meatball sub. I think it'll work better, I've never got the server seeded by ONLY being on the server, if you're in TS it's a more common place for TGers to gather, rather than just randomly sitting idle in the server. And this way, people will be seeding, while being able to play on other, more populated 2142 servers, instead of sitting in an empty one.
When you find us in an other channel than 2142, don't be shy and join us or tell us what's going on in the main channel.
But that aside, this is a great way for us euros to stil play a game.
Great post Jazy.
Sounds great, but for me I think its kinda difficult. In my current situation, I cannot play 2142. That's why I do idle seeding. Hope people don't mind it ...

My thoughts - Idle seeding in these times of low server traffic can cause horrible imbalances in the teams and if the idlers are kicked then we can end up with too few players to start a game.

I agree, sometimes you end up with more than one idle on a team and it is a little unfair unless there is away to kick them off reliably, which I have been hearing is sometimes an issue.
While on the subject why is it that all of the Admins seem to be Euros (not that there is anything wrong with that)? Would it not be better to make a few active North American players admins because of the weird hours...that said I think Jazy plays more in my timezone then he does in his.
DUDE! That was the best triple teamkill (and reason for a teamkill) ever! I am also really pleased that so many people joined me in using clark-12 rdx for an entire round. TG is just awesome.

Now playing with the TG prefix because, according to oniell121, doing very stupid things with alarming frequency isn't a good enough reason not to wear them...

There are plenty of American ones, just they don't play 2142 anymore. If you have an issue I believe any of the <BF ADMIN> tagged people in Teamspeak can usually help with your problems in the 2142 server (kicking people, changing maps).

Jazy and myself are the only euro-BF-Admins (excluding PR) that are around actually. We have plenty more form the US. 2142 is just rather slow and most of the other admins are focused elsewhere. But if you need assistance on the server, allmost all the BF-Admins on TS should be able to help you out.
And if there isnt one on TS and n'either is watching CC (aka reading chat-reports) - there is allways the Contact an Admin forum.

For those that wern't there....I was trying to use the "q" command to say "GO GO GO" but I was sitting in a Rorsche which just happened to be pointed at a full friendly buggy. "Q" command fail, buggy go boom!

I lol'd
It was hilarious, we were all sitting there, with our buggy exploded and not an enemy in sight, like "er, Jazy, what just happened.."
"Well I was trying to send the "Go Go Go" command, and I was sitting in a Rorsche..."

Brilliant!
It reminds me of the time Zohar (I think it was Zohar...) managed to kill 2 or 3 teammates by deploying his parachute.

Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
