TG's Second 2142 Server

I was just thinking about the Titan server TG used to have...

And today I was on, looking through the servers and noticed two TaticalGamers. One was playing Camp G 50 player, the other Minsk 48 player.

The second server is at IP 8.2.121.12, Port 16567.

I'm just wondering about it. Did we get a second server back? Is it going to be here for a while? Or has someone else called their server "TacticalGamer.com - 2142 - Conquest?"

I believe there is another group that uses some form of Tactical Gamer as their name. They use the tags [TG] I believe. The particular member was confusing the hell out of me one night when he was asking all kinds of basic questions about our server when he was wearing what I thought to be an incorrectly entered version of our tags. I can only assume it is their server that you saw. Of course it is entirely possible that I dont know what I am talking about so feel free to ignore me.

I thought the same thing at first, but why would they direct players to this website rather than their own??

I know that we did indeed formerly have a second server, but it was removed because it was not getting used that much. I seriously doubt that there was a re-addition of a second 2142 server. There is not currently enough consistent 2142 activity to call for such action.

At one time we had a second server and at one time, even certain IHSs had their own servers. You could have found any of those and their info could just still be listed when the actual case is that they are off line... Apophis or one of the other higher ups should know...

you could always try to join it...

I did join it... and a few others did as well. The load-up screen info was identical to the regular server, and that surprised me.

Didn't TGU use the second server for their courses?

It's not a second server. That went a while ago. It's a change of provider so the old server should end soon. No offical announcement has gone out while things get setup. You should be good to get on there, and of course let us know via the contact an admin page if you have any issues.
