Thinking of reinstalling 2142 for the... 4th time I think lol. Unlike a lot of people I thought it was a blast and loved playing on your server since it tended to be a bit more organized. Do you guys still have an active and full server(s)?
Yes server fills up, but you have a beter chance of finding TG on TeamSpeak (2142 or sometimes E1st channel).
Second beta patch is running since 17 december and should end somewhere mid/end january.
They have indeed got one man on this 2-year old patch, but he is also fixing BC2 (I think he should stop fixing it, because hopefully BF3 will fix it ).
No, the patch is the work of the one guy they're willing to put on the project. And it's been in "beta" since...what November now?
I'm more excited about the DRM being removed, NS being free, and it coming to steam.
Plus the brand new maps and apparent fixes to server stability.
EA may not be the best they're way better than Activision who just recycle the same COD game year-on-year and only return to old ones if they're going to release DLC to make more money from it. EA are practically non-profit compared to Activision/IW/Treyarch.
Hate to show it to you Sharingan, but here's something you might want to read.
Speaking about the impact of digital distribution, the CEO of EA suggested that the company may well start selling packaged games in pieces this year. The games will be in 'chunks and pieces' with a view to developing subscriptions and micro-transactions. We think Codemaster's mentioned doing something this last year. Do you think this is a good solution?
Here's what the CEO said - "At the end of [2011], the digital business is bigger than the packaged goods business, full stop. No questions in my mind. Then, you know, I think that we’ll find ways to even sell our packaged goods content in chunks and in pieces and subscriptions and micro-transactions."
Also just found this Quote in someone's sig.

I didn't mean they're literally non-profit, but if you look at games like COD which only get supported for a year, you have to give them some sort of credit for still supporting this game after all this time, as it's pretty rare for companies to do that for free these days.

Well, I guess the truth needs to come out...EA only has 1 guy developing all of Battlefield games and they move him from game to game ( just like the shell game ) and at some point the little ball will be under the 2142 shell and the patch will be released. Keep placing your bets....
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
