returning 2142 players... Need 1.5 patch before 1.51 will install

I haven't played 2142 in at least a year, year and a half... Just reinstalled, and downloaded the 1.51 patch. Turns out you have to get the 1.5 patch first; 1.51 is not cumulative for all patches.

Do not use autorun.
Run as Adminstrator.
Be lucky.

Not needed anymore, you only did that to get NS working, and NS is already in the new patch.

I just installed the latest EA Download Manager - clicked download -> clicked install and I ended up with 1.50 installed. I then downloaded (torrent) the 1.51 patch (2GB?).

Windows 7 64bit so far no issues I'll let you know if there is. (UAC is disabled so no need for "Run as Administrator" on my machine).

It's funny. I downloaded the 1.51 patch and installed it and everything is working fine. Maybe it's because I'm running windows xp and have the deluxe version on PC-DVD.

I DL'd 2142 from the new EADM after a complete uninstall and it was version 1.0, I had to do 1.4, 1.4-1.5 then 1.51. Still didn't fix my biggest issue: getting still frame "flashbacks" every so often from earlier in the round that last from 3-5 seconds, which renders me completely vulnerable and useless in game.

Interesting, since Deluxe Edition is already updated to v1.40. Maybe you only need up to 1.4 and not 1.5 before installing 1.51...???

I use Windows 7 and after doing a complete reinstall (deleted all BF 2142 files, configs, saved server names), I installed patch 1.5 and then patch 1.51 and then after updating PB as a pre-caution, the game worked just fine.

I have the basic retail BF 2142 disk, not the deluxe one.

I did end up doing a regedit in order to get the patch to install... it was complaining that I already had a newer version install. Played last night for a few hours and worked great!
