E-Male's Impressions
Was on a non-TG 2142 server for a few minutes. Immediately had my ears assaulted with commander spam:
Hostile Infantry
Hostile Infantry
Hostile Infantry
Hostile Infantry
Hostile Infantry
...
Reminded me of the worst of BF2.
I often wonder if the designers actually play these games or if they are just sadists.
Hopefully will we be able to control CO spam on the TG servers. That stuff turns a game into an auditory nightmare.
Will be back in tonight for more exploring. CO spamming aside, looks fun!

Re: E-Male's Impressions
E-Male, a word of advice.
Not every game plays the same. BF2142 is a game where information is plentiful and a skill that develops over time is how to filter the relevant information from the irrelevant, sometimes on the fly. It is overwhelming for individuals who come from different flavors of the Battlefield games. It doesn't make 2142 any better or worse, just different.
Being new to the year 2142 (in the future), try not to bring the expectations from BF2 or the PR mod with you. If you do, you may be very unhappy with what is a very well made game.|TG-42nd| Damonte

Re: E-Male's Impressions
You may want to play with the volume settings and find a more suitable level for soldier call-outs. Chances are you will want to turn up VOIP as well while you're there.

Re: E-Male's Impressions
That commander spam is the intel so badly needed by the team. Yes the voice is annoying, but no intel is worse..

Re: E-Male's Impressions
For me, spam is spam is spam. It is a sign of bad design, noise pollution. But then I'm old . . .

Ha! When I was growing up, only the well-to-do folk got to eat Spam.

Re: E-Male's Impressions
This and this - the Commentary Volume is the COmmander Volume or something. They changed it specifically for that case. There are options in-game to lower the volume of these messages.....try that.

Re: E-Male's Impressions
The auditory spam is just some that you have to deal with, when you hear it you should be happy knowing that you have more intel.
