Re: Battlefield 2142

You misunderstood. You'd appear at a CP, or a main base on the continent. You'd have to take real-time transport to a hostile destination. Spawning would work the same way as in BF2. You can choose any base that you control. SO the only difference is you would take an 'instant' transport between BF2 maps to different continents.

meh, still too intsant for me

of course I always like to go to the extreme and maybe some of those transports could take over an hour

your saying, you want different continents, and you cannot simply "walk" to each continent

but what about jets. Can you fly to each one, or once you go to far out away from the nearest battle you simply die

Re: Battlefield 2142

Given months of design I'm sure a team could think up somethign much better than I I just know I'd enjoy the prospect of a massive modern day combat.

Re: Battlefield 2142

-----Does anyone feel any different now that we have all this info, videos and screens of the game now? Or do you still feel the same?

I personally was optimistic about the game when I first heard about it. After watching how fun it looks made my want it even more. I just cannot wait to get into a mech, or play with all the new kit layouts, and gadgets. Knowing the weapons shoot bullets instead of lasers was also uplifting, especially for those who were flippin' out if they were going to shoot lasers. bleh /done.

Re: Battlefield 2142

im totally stoked for this game from the first thread about it before it even had its own forum lol. I cant wait to use all the new toys and play some Titan mode with you guys!

I also love that the guns shoot bullets instead of lasers. Makes it feel a lot more tactile. The guns (the ones ive seen so far) look mighty damn sexy as well. I love the PLA pistol.

Re: Battlefield 2142

I am agreeing with Snail88 and undead77 here. The humans and bullets would be a main selling point for them, it is a good move on their part to retain enough of the BF2 concept but give it a dash of sci-fi-ness to the game. I am extremely excited about the kit combos and the new gadgets (mobile AA launchers, motion sensing mines, EMP nades, woot!)

Personally, I am kind of worry about the whole "dog tag" thing. Now that knifing has been officially glorified by DICE with added incentives.......I can almost see it now: 24/7 city map >>H1GH PW4N5<< [[KNIFE]] only server.

lol....i hope there are servers like that...let all the smacktards go to that server...But i said it once, ill say it again - Dont bring a knife to a gun battle. My sentry gun will kill you and your little knife like a knife through hot butter (pun intended). I do kinda like the dogtag thing though. You know youre going to be proud of that Santa dog tag I highly doubt anyone who plays on TG is going to revert to knife only just for stupid dog tags.

Re: Battlefield 2142

Okay, they had however long they were working on bf2 and then a year after that working on bf2 and bf2142 and EA/dice has only been able to come up with 1 more game mode? Titan mode seems kind of cool but how is that the only other game mode they could come up with?

Re: Battlefield 2142

I don't think they needed anymore than two total game modes. Seems like pleanty, I think they tried other gamemodes, but they just didn't work out well enough.

Re: Battlefield 2142

yea 2 is plently. They did try a lot of different ones. Im just glad they came up with titan. Id ratehr they focus more on maps and gameplay than more modes imo.

Re: Battlefield 2142

One thing that has always kept me slightly disappointed is based on map design. I would like to see maps become more realistic based on more enterable buildings and cover. It would be great if a squad could set up in a building (crater/trench/bunker) between Caps. to create more opportunities and more a realistic environment.
Food for thought...
Your team just lost the first flag and the enemy is moving in to attack your second. Now your squad was halfway to the first when is was lost. instead of being suck in the middle of the street you duck into a building and set up a defense to slow the enemies attack until backup arrives so you can counter attack.
What do you think??

*LOL I just read what I posted and I guess you can do that already. I guess I just want more opportunities to do so.

Re: Battlefield 2142

2142 is going to have alot more indoor combat I believe. Sorta like SF indoor combat maybe? I don't know yet. We'll have to wait and see.

Well not only Indoor fighting but cover. So a guy has more to hide behind in the middle of nowhere besides a tree, the corner of a building, a box or a shrubbery.
