Interesting. Maybe EA is gonna buy out Quake Wars (isn't QW pretty much a tactical futuristic multiplayer shooter?)?

I figured we had BF2 for modern, Starwars BF for fantasy, and QuakeWars for sci-fi; I don't see room in there for BF 2142....

Yeah... Too cheesy with some aliens and weird things like that will make it too common...

I kind of like the idea of MECH with infantry support.

Also I am psyched to see what the maps are gonna be like... Very high buildings? Wonder...

bF to me is a tactical military shooter, If I want to go play a scifi game Ill play quaje wars, or halo, or all the other sci-fi shooters out there

If this is true, I really hope they dont add aliens, I would like to see a futuristic shooter were alians DONT attack, If they can pull of a good shooter with military presence than I wil be extreemly impressed, of course this is EA/Dice were talking about.....

I'd like to see something along the lines of Terranova (one of the best games ever made btw). Everyone in small scale powered battle armor. I'm all for a realistic future game, though ~ 140 years may be too future for my taste.

It can still very well be a tactical military shooter in the future. Planetside wasn't too far-fetched, it was 3 human factions fighting each other, on ground. I can see BF2142 being similar to Unreal Tournament/Quake Wars but more realistic. Year 2142 doesn't necessarily mean laser guns, aliens and Mechwarrior-esque robots. UT/Quake series is a "fantasy" sci-fi world, there is room for a realistic sci-fi game.

I'd be interested if its anything like that video. That looks cool, but not over the top-way too futuristic.

Otherwise, yeah - make the existing game better. Theres a lot more that could be done. SO many more weapons and vehicles would be nice...

The game concept sounds cool, but thats a little TOO far into the future, i dunno. There's gonna have to be some really far fetched technology in this. there would have to be laser weapons in it, etc. i just wonder if they can keep it realistic, meanwhile keeping it not cheesy, or like Halo or those other sci fi games.

if they keep the realistic aspect to it, ill probly get it. whats the projected release date? like a year and a half, two?
