Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

That is quite confusing, I ended up with Lorian101. Sounds better than Lorian14 which I usually use if Lorian is taken.

@Snail88: Just register a new one.

I just read the page, "You will also receive an immediate promotion in Battlefield 2142, which will let you choose an unlock."

Sweet, I get the defibs straight away.

Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

ahhhh...

"Congratulations, you have successfully signed up as a Veteran."

lol... so "|TG-12th|WhiskeySix" was on one gamespy/ign/ea account/email-address, and "WhiskeySix" was on another. So apparently your BF2 in-game name IS reserved for you since I couldn't grab "WhiskeySix" as a 2142 name while referencing |TG-12th|WhiskeySix as my BF2 name....

undead - are you sure you have the right gamespy/ign/ea account? If you're not sure what it is, go into BF2 and where you enter your name, go to "Manage Accounts", and then "Forgot Password" -> This will open a page where you enter your email address for the account and it sends an email where you can update your password. (LOL I had to go through three of my email addresses before I got the right account )

Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

Where the hell do you find your EA name? It's apparently something other than the EA Downloader name. I've gotten errors for every single field trying to enter my info. Good to see EA has streamlined this whole registration process.

EDIT: Thanks for the linkage Whiskey. We'll see if that sheds any light on the FUBAR registration process.

Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

LOL Yeah that wasn't accepted there. Lovely.

EDIT: Somehow I got in and reserved Beatnik. What a joke though. |TG-7th|Beatnik was "already in use by another BF2 player", but just Beatnik worked to get me in. EA needs to get some usability or human factors engineers on staff. Every registration process is pure trial and error, between GameSpyID, EA ID, BF2 player name, various passwords and email addresses, it's a giant cluster...something.

Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

LOL, they locked my account due to suspecious conduct. What a joke.

OK, fixed that. But I had to use TG-2ndTurbo for it to work.

Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

Hmmm in BF2 I could use Lt.Snow, but in BF 2142 I can't use a period...Lt_Snow it is, but it doesn't look as good.

Looks like somebody used Lt_Snow for their EA ID but not for a BF2 name...hehe loser.

Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

I assume you have a |TG-7th|Beatnik and Beatnik accounts right? Each would require a unique email address - and EA account... reset the PW's to the same thing on both, and then try "Beatnik" as your BF2 and 2142 name (with each email).... one should work.

Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

@Whiskey, ya I'm sure, I login 2142 with my EA account.'

Oh and its simple actually, instead of GameSpy handling the game accounts, Your EA account is handling it now.

Re: Battlefield 2/2142 Veteran Program Open!

So why is my EA account name (TGLorian) different from the BF2142 name I chose (Lorian101)? Shouldn't they be the same?
