    The demo is screwed up

    I have just got the be... demo and been trying to play a while. Trying is the keywork here. I can play for about 2-5 minutes at a time, then it will disconnect from the EA master server, why it needs to be connected to that to play on an external server is beyond me. Anyway, trying to login again the game just CTDs.

    So overall I have had about 5 disconnects, and 3 CTDs. The beta ran better than this, and it didn't run particularly well.

    There are a couple of overall improvements, the menu screens feel better, and verifying is significantly faster. So much faster than BF2.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    I'm having the same problem with disconnects, and it crashed once.

    i had some problems connecting witht he master server but just now i got in two rounds with no probs.

    I had acouple crashes on the first few games I played last night. Nothing out of the ordinary for me though, I seem to always have a crash or two every BF2 or PoE game.

    I keep getting disconnected from the EA Server then when I log back in the bottom half of my screen is black and flickers. I have to restart the game in order to fix it.

    Ya I got d/ced from the EA master server twice in 20 minutes while fooling round on the TG server...oh well...didn't have much time to play anyway.

    in 3 hrs playing, game servers appear to be stable (unlike beta) but disconnected from EA master server 4 times

    I get game disconnects as well.. but that was a problem I'm having with all games atm so I can't tell if it is bf2142 specific or just my comcast/road runner connection.

    a lot of people are saying they get disconnected from the master server a bit. I was able to get at least 2 rounds in before fine. Not sure. But at least i havent seen hardly any bug thusfar. A lot more stable than the beta. And a lot mroe enjoyable, even without the unlocks. It really does need the unlocks though for variety.

    Just got disconnected 4 times in about 15 minutes. Enough.

    I'm having the same problem as Hambergler. "d3dx9_29.dll not found"

    This is a repost from another thread

    If anybody is having problem with directx 9 when starting the game or installing the BF2142 demo. And it said "this application has failed to start because dedx9_29.dll was not found". You will need to update the directx 9 to August 2006 version.

    i had no connections problems whatsoever tonight. Some really good games with some good defense. I cant wait to have more than one map and be able to get unlocks. Then the party will really get started.

    Yeah it was pretty cool defending that southern flag near their UCB. I didn't really get to play Titan mode all that much tonight, so all I could go by was conquest and so far it's pretty cool. Definitely a lot faster game play. That's why I can't wait to play the retail game here at TG with TG'ers with more organization.
