If anybody is having problem with directx 9 when starting the game or installing the BF2142 demo. And it said "this application has failed to start because dedx9_29.dll was not found". You will need to update the directx 9 to August 2006 version.

to add to lunisix's post, from what i understand you might need to uninstall BF2142 THEN install Directx. Then install the demo again.

You do not have to uninstall BF2142 demo to install Directx9c. Just need to restart your computer. Originally Posted by freekyE
