Welcome Bag! Don't worry about the ping on our servers. I'm in LA as well and I don't have any significant issues with lag, ping, etc.

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Well I'm pretty new here as well. Been playing 2142 since launch, and have only recently found the TG servers. I have to say that I've had more fun on these than in any other servers, simply because of the good teamwork within squads. I hope to play with you all again soon. =)

Welcome!

After a while... you won't want to play anywhere else. You'll come to rely on your squaddies so much, that nothing else will do.

See you on the battlefield.

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Howdy TG.

Want to thank all of you TG'ers and Ainselie in particular for saving BF2142 for me. Had a great time in a "Learn TG" squad he led for a couple hours a few weeks ago.

Previously, when I joined a server I'd compare the number of wins for each side and check to see how many people were in squads... if it looked like a consistent rout, or if more than half the folks were not in squads I'd jet... then I joined the TG server...

Holy crap... not only did I have more than 10 seconds to try and equip myself... the squad I joined was using voice... AND they were doing a pre-mission briefing... I just about passed out.

Now I check TG first whenever I can play, which is rare, considering I have a full-time job, a full-time commute, and a 5-month old son.

See ya'll soon. (hopefully, I'll get sick again and can play for more than 20 minutes consecutively)

Ainselie runs the learn TG squads on a regular basis and is a great person to learn from. I'm glad to see those squads are having such a positive impact and are changing the way some people choose to play for the better. Welcome!

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Thanks for the kind words... it is kind of ironic, that it was only a couple of months ago I posted in this very thread introducing myself; this community has really changed me as a player for the better- once you play at TG you cannot go anywhere else... (except for Squadplay maybe )

squadplay is always refreshing from time to time. Tonight i couldnt get onto the TG server, it was full, and i think i was kicked for the day or something. Didnt do anything wrong this time but w\e. new crowd and i love hearing European players all struggling to talk to eachother in slaughtered pronunciations of English. Good times. But a lower revive rate from what ive noticed. I think they have more support players typically. But pub servers and titan mode are awful after TG

Came by too say whats up, i've been playing on the TG servers lately. The game play is excellent, members are mature and have an excellent sense of real life tatics. I definately look foward to playing with you guys in the future, and hopefully joining TG for competitive play.

WOW, took a 2 week vacation and look at all the new blood. Not enough time to point you out individually but welcome all new members, I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield sometime soon.

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Hi everyone....I'm new to 2142. Started with the demo appx 3 weeks ago & then got the game for my 51st birthday (yeah...I'm an old guy). I'm struggling, but really enjoy the gameplay & I'm looking forward to getting on the TG server.

I play a lot of Day of Defeat, both classic & Source. One "community" is Victory in Europe, which is a team-based tournament (not a clan) and we use team tactics, teamspeak, etc. quite consistently, so I'm really looking forward to becoming involved with TG.

I'm currently a Gunner Gold on the Assault path & take the medic duties seriously (plus it helps keep me alive as well!). I've just spent an hour reading all the forums and have already learned a lot, and realize there is still so much more to learn. I hope everyone will be patient with an "old guy".

See you all in game!

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Awesome Shafter! Welcome to TG.

I know what you mean about struggling. I found the TG server literally the third server I played 2142 on. Haven't looked back since, but I have to say it's been a bumpy ride getting up to speed from a dead stop on the TG server. Stick with it and it'll hold you in good stead, TG is a great place to learn.

As far as the "old guy" goes, when you cap a flag you gotta tell those damn kids to get off your lawn.
