Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Banjar, it's good to finally hear from you. Thank you for supporting our servers. The BF2142 arena here at TG has been a little quiet lately but you can always watch for the eigth both in game and in teamspeak. We would love to have another person running with us who sounds funny. Currently the only real accent in the 8th belongs to Insunabula. Cheers!

Thanks to ExplodingSilver's super videos on YouTube (and his distinct british accent), I decided to go for BF2142, because it looked very cool, and I have a little experience with BF2 aswell. So, I bought the game and I will buy NF in 30 mins - after I go and become a supporting member, because i just got kicked from your server! *grr* :-)

(*) this is a new account, simply because 'Banjar' is the ingame name i selected - I figured I might aswell make an account with that name too. If an admin wants to delete my old account, please let me know and I will provide the details.
Welcome aboard fellow scandinavian!

Most of the E1st is checking out tf2 these days, but offcourse we do awesome runs on 2142 still. Us Euro TG'ers must stick together! So please add me ingame dude, so we can catch a game together!

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Hola, finally visiting the forums and making an account for a few reasons. But first for a background, I have been playing 2142 off and on since its release, have my little bf2 reserved # thingy and everything, very quickly I narrowed down about 2-3 servers I would only play on, and so far, TG is the only surviving server of those, and I am now at the point where If this server's full/empty, I just dont play 2142 typically.

The major reason for my sporadic play was a World of warcraft crack addiction (one of top tier raiding guilds on server = 16-18hrs/week of raiding evenings much less farming/solo stuffs). Now that I've kicked that habit, I'm more interested in stuff thats pickup and play whenever, as far as shooters goes I always enjoyed reasonably realistic/anal types of games. ( Flashpoint, AA, BF2), Halo being the only exception for lasers and rocket jumping carnage.

Currently heading into senior year of a criminal justice degree, and pretty broke esp since saving for my first snowboarding trip here in Colorado w/ friends including ones out of state, though would like to supporting member subscribe at some point and become more involved.

Knew a handfull of 3rd TG and TG in general over last few years, though most of the ones I knew dont seem to play 2142 anymore. ( Though it's always fun when in a TG squad someones like wtf name is Datzl, and as I explain [German friends cats name] once in a while I'll get a oh yeah I know you)

Welcome Datzl, you've shot me a few times, and last night you boldly took on a team of 7 all by yourself until I realized and switched to join you. Then they all quit in terror of us!

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Greetings, members of TacticalGamer!

My name is Ensign Bladeron, and I hail from Starfleet. Not too long ago I was browsing around for a 2142 server and I stumbled upon your own server. I decided to give it a try, despite the seemingly long list of rules. I figured that it would either be very good or very bad. It turns out that it was very good, and I've been joining as often as time would let me. As I've played on your server I've gotten in valuable commander hours, commander points, and none too few head shots with a Moretti Sniper Rifle. Most of all, I've come to have a great respect for your community for its maturity and its order, something most servers and clans, communities, and fleets lack nowadays.

I've decided to come to the forums to both pay my respects and speak with the server admins/owners, because I have an uncommon request to ask of them. Nonetheless, I give you my acknowledgment of being a highly organized and incredible group of players. I very much look forward to playing with you all in the future, and I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors!

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Welcome Datzl. It was a pleasure having you in Damonte's squad last evening for a few rounds. Welcome to Bladeron as well. We're glad you enjoy the server and the TG environment.

As one of the friendly neighborhood BF admins, may I take a moment to direct your attention to a bit of light reading? Most notably, our TG Primer and the BF2142 Server Rules. I've you've got more time to kill, feel free to peruse the BF2142 SOP's. Links to all these can be found below in my signature.

We just want to make sure that everyone who plays on our server understands what we're all about here!

Once again, it's great to hear from you two!

Welcome Ensign! I'm sure you've heard about the new startrek movie coming out, and I'm pretty excited about it. The rule for remakes these days seems to be pandering to the fanboys, which has made for some pretty fantastic movies. Let's hope it holds true for this. Glad to see you're enjoying the server so much, everyone here loves to see someone new stumble onto TG, because it reminds us of our own delight back in the day.

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Greetings from the land down under.

Long time reader, first time poster to this great site. Been looking for a good place to play fps with some real teamwork for awhile now. Used to play a lot of CS awhile ago but got tired of it and was looking for a new game and decided on bf2142. Haven't even been able to play it yet due to a crummy pc. But now that the new pc is up and running first thing to get will be bf2142 and first place to take a look at will be the Tactical Gamer server.

Kinda new to the whole teamwork thing so just pretend you don't know me if you see me acting like an idiot, or better yet throw me some advice.

Finally just wondering if there are any other aussies here, and if there are what kind of ping do you guys get when you play on the server.

See you at the other end of a gun (more likely to be yours then mine)

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

The last Australian who played regularly on the 2142 server routinely had a ping of around 300. Damonte hopes that your ping is much better.
