"HI"
New poster here to TG. I have only been playing BF2142 about a month now. I got in the beta way back, but kinda lost interest due to the bugs.
Been playing on random servers but have had the most fun on TG. Team work, good times and FF ON really make for a fun (= Real) game.
Only bad times so far have been the occasional "you are being kicked to make room for a paying member"

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"
Hey guys,
I'm new to BF2142, started a couple weeks ago actually. The good thing is that I started playing on TG servers, so it hasn't been that difficult adjusting to the teamwork and squadplay. It's definitely better than what goes on in regular servers, so thanks for making it possible. I'm not going to lie, it's way easier ranking up in TG servers! I have to say, I wouldn't have discovered TG if it weren't for randomly getting to one of Silver's vids on youtube. Yay for related links right?

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"
Welcome all newcomers!
TG is an awesome server, and as was mentioned, it does seem like you will rank up faster. Squad work definately gives you more chances to score points, as well as have more fun in the first place.
To Doom; I can't tell you what kind of game you like, but you can't go wrong purchasing both, to be honest. They are each cheap now, and all the expansions are included in one package for each game.
As for BF2, most people here play mods of it. We have Point of Existance and Project Reality. Both mods for BF2 are free to download from the developers and perfectly legit. Of the two, I have to say that Project Reality probably has a bigger following, but you need to know it is a stark contrast to normal BF2. No run and gun get as many points as you can. It is just as the name says; Project Reality so you will go long periods running with your squad to get to the fight, and be easily killed by flying ammunition. But, it's a lot of fun, at least I think.
We don't really have much of a standard BF2 following anymore I don't think. 2142 is a good alternative to regular non-modded BF2, because it has a lot of similar play styles, albeit being set in the future. It's a more arcade style shooter, but still has plenty of room for tactics and teamwork. Even though people can solo through it (but not on TG servers
).
I think 2142 and BF2/PR are equally staffed for the most part. So if you are looking only at the Battlefield series, you should choose either a slower, more realistic game (BF2/Project Reality) or fast paced arcade style shooter (2142)|TG-AIR| - Gone, but still awesome! **Proud Former Member**
