Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

Greetings to everyone at TG. I've actually been playing on Tactical Gamer servers on BF2, BF2142, and Raven Shield for at least four years now. I never looked into the community behind the servers, but still returned to them consistently because of the level-headed and tactically minded players. Even after that, I joined TG's Steam group about a year back, but still barely communicated with anyone involved. I decided that it was about time to formally join the forums and get involved, especially because I carry respect for the founders and members of Tactical Gamer. I hate to sound like I'm exaggerating, but TG always provided a mature and rewarding team experience even on games filled to the brim with twitchy, overly-competitive players. So greetings and good night.

Yeah, I totally quoted Sun Tzu. How original . . .

Hey Icarus, welcome to TG! I just wanted to let you know that you can wear the |TG| tag just for accepting the TG primer and SOP's for TG as well as the game you're playing and adhere to them during play. As far as joining an In-House Squad (IHS), the way to go about that would be to pick up a supporting membership which reserves you a slot on any of the TG servers, and makes you elidgable for recruitment into the IHS's. If money is tight tho, you can look into the Irregulars |TG-Irr| as they don't require a supporting membership, and thats usually the first place other IHS's go for new recruits when they're looking. Hope to see you on the battlefield!

    Hey guys,
I have played on the TacticalGamer server multiple times, and I have to say it is the best one out there. The squads are amazing and no one tolerates BS (my personal favorite!). I was thinkin' about joining a clan so i thought, "Y not join TG?" So yeah, that's pretty much it, and i'll see u guys online!

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"

hey, TG! I found your clan/community/what-have-you while playing BF2142. After I found myself kicked from the server (probably because i got a couple teamkills with some sloppy grenade tosses), I read the SOPs and such here on the forum.

You definitely seem more like the type of gamers I enjoy playing with - teamwork and tactics over "shoot everything that moves." I reg'd for the forum a while back, but haven't really posted until now. Just got done with a few rounds on another server and a few on yours, and wow. The differences are pretty big. No bunny-hopping is the biggest noticeable change. It's annoying as hell, and it smacks of system-exploitation. I DID accidentally kill a teammate (saw the guy before I saw the name), and he punished me for a teamkill, but I grabbed his kit and revived him (another thing the TG server seems to have a lot more of - revives) and we kept on going. Accidents happen, right? It was a small game - I think we had 11 people on each team - but it was still fun as hell, and it makes being dead a lot bigger drag on the team.

I've been trying to do a lot more scanning and q-spotting, but sometimes I'll spot one guy and get killed by another guy in my blind spot, or worse, someone else that I can see but can't shoot quick enough. I usually crouch and scope in before firing, because the LMGs and Ganz aren't as accurate otherwise. Still a lot for me to learn, I guess. I've read a bunch of the forum posts here about tips/strategy/tactics, but there's really no substitute for experience.

Anyway - I play mainly L4D2 and BF2142, and I usually try to find the TG server for BF2142, because it's much more conducive to a non-annoying game. I'll probably join the steam group too (I have GRAW, but don't play it all that often, mainly due to lack of actual people to play with - the AI isn't horrible, but it's no substitute for a human).

Just wanted to let you know that I like the way you guys think, and you'll probably be seeing more of me in the future.

great to see you in the community. enjoy! and btw if you teamkill someone it automatically gives the max negative points of a teamkill(i think -4 or -5 im not sure). so if he punishes or not it wouldnt make a difference on the TG server.

    have fun!

    Hi dj.subversive,

I think that is the one thing that has brought all of us here. TG is a GREAT community of gamers that play the game the way it was intended to be played. You will certainly love it here. Also know that if you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the forum and you will find the help you need. It's the TG way. Really glad to know you're happy and look forward to killing....ummm I mean playing with ya hehe
