Howdy. Wonderful server and I like it.
Usually play engineer.
EDIT: Forgot, because of a wierd EA Master Server problem, my alias is "Birdman10113".

Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"
Well, I've already been talking on the forums, and have had a few occasions to play on server with you folks. But I might as well say hi here. Some basic information on me.
I prefer the assault kit with medic/revive outfit. I score best and feel I help my team most in this role. I'm flexible though, and I enjoy playing most of the kits even though I am not as effective with some of them. I'm an aspiring squad leader, and I've some experience with it, but I'd like to learn to squad lead the TG way, and do it well. Alas, I'm a newb at this point, even to the ways of TG SMing, so I will have to learn as best as I can in the coming weeks/months.
I joined 2142 from release date, being a pre-order subscriber. I am a veteran from both Battlefield 2 and 1942, with around 6 months of active play experience in each (year total) before I became bored with them and moved on to other games. I am hoping my love affair with 2142 lasts longer. I took a good 3 month break from 2142 though, so I have been spending the past two weeks getting back into the swing of things, and admittedly, trying to raise my rank. Yes, I am a bit of a stat/rank obsessing sort, but in the end teamplay and tactics are more important to me. This doesn't mean I won't try to earn every gold badge in the game and make at least Brigadier at some point, it just means I'd prefer to do so using legitimate tactics.
I go by Icefox in most communities, but the name is almost always taken. I got into 2142 early enough to reserve the name Icefox, but due to some hassling trying to get my pretty little "2" by my name, I had to end up settling for Icefoxen (my reserve name that I almost always end up having to use) on an alternate EA account. C'est la vie. Contrary to what some Europeans end up thinking due to the meaning of the added -en in some languages, I am not female, though I do share a few common extra-curricular interests with them.
That said, you'll find me a competent, if overly verbose and only semi-skilled medic and front-line fighter who is eager to advance his skills in his primary kit, learn better tactics in the others (versatility = win), and wishes one day to become a proper squad leader of the TG-way.Last edited by Icefoxen; 05-12-2007 at 07:26 PM. Re: New to TG? Drop a "HI"
Well first, read the required reading here.
That will let you know about TG, what we are about, and the types of gamers you are likely to find here. If you agree with the ideals and style of play outlined in much of that reading, then you should have a great time here! If not, you'll likely still find some friends and perhaps some spirited debate, so long as you follow the rules. *grin*
As far as joining, TG is something you can join on your own as long as you read the above required reading and the links it directs you to and agree to those terms. If you do, you can add the TG tag yourself simply by adding the TG to your "clan" tag in game. In this sense and others, we are more a community than a "clan." If you want a more clan-like experience with that feeling of "family," then consider joining the Irregulars; we're what we call an In-House Squad that indoctrinates and trains people to the ways of TG! If you do join the Irregulars in particular, be advised you need to get approval before adding a TG-Irr tag though.
Quick question, how did you find us? By the BF2142 server? If so, keep on popping in; if not, find us - the server's title starts in "Tactical Gamer," so it shouldn't be hard to zero in on.
Welcome to the community!
