Re: Some people are unbelievable
I'm for no rules .. whatsoever.
This game is a medium for human competition so just let the best man win and 'all is fair in love and war'. If by ingenuity one man figures out how to use the system (game) in a better way than another to gain an advantage then so be it - all these rules only serve to limit the creative play that makes human games so interesting (strategic and tactical). Down with rules - war is hell and this a war simulation, or at least it tries to be... some bonehead the other day was telling me that bunny-hopping is banned; that is ridiculous - when enemies are within knife range, the natural course that is taken is each begins running around each other and jumping begins to attempt to gain an advantage - this is natural and healthy.

Obviously this is not how we do it at TG. If anyone blatantly ignores our rules we will remove them from our servers. Take time to readup on our SOPs and Rules and you'll see what we try to create here at TG.

Elite,
I suggest you read the server rules and SOP's to discover what TG is all about...

No, he's right. I've often seen soldiers bunnyhopping* in knife fights, so it's a realistic simulation.

Re: Some people are unbelievable
The rules been enforced are actually one of the reasons I like playing on this server.
I have been in many different servers and none of the *may the best man win* servers offer any sort of satisfaction, neither do they make you feel like you are taking part in something other than just killing and scoring points.
In here I found a community that enforces team play and cooperation. It feels good to open your map and see all the green dots of your squad concentrated in one place working together to achieve a goal, instead of them been in different corners of the map. That’s why the rules are there.
I have been playing exclusively on this server since I jumped on it at random this past Friday night, and I am pretty sure it’s going to be one of the only ones I will play on from here on out, unless I get the urge for a titan run.

Re: Some people are unbelievable
We have a Titan server too. I prefer the Titan mode over Conquest because I think it has more depth but it also has more lag so I'm going to wait to see what the next patch brings.

Thanks for the welcom guys

Acid: That was a good read and is exactly my frame of mine when it comes to any kind of gaming. Exploiding the game mechanics to gain an advantage is not only cheating but also ruins the fun of the game.

"Bunny-hopping...this is natural and healthy"
- ROFL. Ludacris, just ludacris. Perhaps one jump, but jumping more than once invites me to blow you away. Plus it's funny when you hopping around and all of a sudden you fly backwards from the explosion of my 'nade.
"All is fair in love and war"
- So you subscribe to the saying: "The end justifies the means"? Have you read anything of what TG is about?
I apologize to any TG members that may feel offended by some of this angryness.

Re: Some people are unbelievable
The only reason why rules exist in any game is to enforce constraints on both sides such that the events in play lead to other complex scenarios so as to stimulate further complex play and aid in 'satisfaction of the game' by way of a creative outlet. I agree that rules are necessary and good for any game, however this decision needs to be analyzed on a case by case basis. I agree that people should be kicked/banned for team killing (this detracts from allowing complexity of play), also people should be kicked for inaction (idleness - which also detracts from adding complexity to the game). But, certain rules that are enforced on this and other servers, to me, are "ludicrous" (Acreo Aeneas please learn how to spell this word and stop listening to so much Ludacris the rapper, it will rot your brain). Now, any option/possibility that I have in the game to defend/attack should be afforded to me UNLESS it detracts from the total possibilities/complexity for the game. Let us examine this point with two examples.
1) Bunny-hopping - allowed by the physics of the game to afford me the right to a defense or an attack in a myriad situations - defenders/attackers must therefore have one more added dimension of thought that will go into what strategy he/she uses in an encounter with me -> therefore leads to greater complexity and therefore should be allowed.
2) Directing your pod onto an enemy dropship and exploding it in the process and getting a kill (trust me this is allowed in the game physics). Should this be allowed or disallowed? I think it should be allowed, even though it sounds ridiculous (and is indeed not a 'realistic' simulation of war), because it adds an extra layer of complexity - I cannot just sit in a dropship on my own titan and pick off (gunner position) enemies who pod onto the titan because I must worry about the possibility that I will be hit and killed.
3) I was blown up by a tank in an apc once with a friendly who was running toward the apc and so he died too - he punished me. He got kicked by the admin. Should he have been kicked for abusing the TK system? NO. Even though I was annoyed with his decision to punish me I just laughed it off - it was his right and it was 'Ludicrous' of the admin to kick him for doing something that is afforded to him as an option by the game itself.
Finally, I do not care about this community or it's idiotic rules or 'SOP's - so don't reply to this message by giving me some jargon about reading what the TG 'is all about' - if TG policies cannot stand up to scrutiny then you all are just a bunch of drones and you are missing out on a richer game play experience by limiting the game in these ways.
