even if I liked the game, I am making time for other stuff.

Hopfully I'll be back on-line before spring of 2007. When I do start playing again, I'll choose a game that is more sim than BF2 vanillia.

Since I managed to win a copy (thanks Apophis), I guess I count as a Yes vote. I'd surely have bought it anyway though, but I might have waited a while to upgrade my PC first. Oh well, even if it's sluggish on a well-populated server for me I can still enjoy SP games, and I'm sure it'll be worth persevering with a low frame rate to play with the TG peeps.

I'm gonna try and get a "collect@store" thing set up for my order, they said 5-7 days delivery which is stupid. Hopefully I will be able to pick it up on release.

Got the UPS package about 3pm, installed, patched and cant play for more than 5 minutes before getting disco'd from ea's master server. not sure what is goign on but it is happening to alot of other people. Those that do not have it yet, you arent missing much

By the time you get your hands on it this issue should be solved (it better), since it is pretty much unplayable atm.

Meddler,

That's common on the first day of release for online games. All the people trying to gain access to the system at one time can overload it and EA wasn't prepared.

Except it's the same problem that kept me from playing the demo. Don't think it has anything to do w/ first day jitters.

It's been a constant problem since the demo was released, and if it's still happening now there might be some deeper problems, or EA just isn't willing to upgrade their servers until they know how the game will be accepted.

They used the 'unexpected awesomeness and popularity' excuse for the demo. They should have been ready for it this time. I call BS.
