Server Questions
Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I couldn't find the answers in any of the older threads.
I understand that TG will have 3 servers; one ranked and sponsored by Bound and Determined (thanks guys) and two unranked.
I assume that in terms of unlocks the ranked server will operate like any other ranked server out there. My question is how unlocks will be handled on the unranked servers.
I remember seeing Tybalt mention in a post that the unranked will allow global unlocks. Has that been confirmed. Also, and forgive my noobishness here, but does allowing global unlocks mean that all unlocks are available to everyone or simply that the unlocks you earn on a ranked server can be used on the unranked server.
Also, has it been determined whether the SM kick can be run on the unranked server?
Finally, Apo mentioned that the B&D server would be up and running early in the game. How about the unranked?

We will probably only have two BF2142 servers off the bat. One ranked and one unranked.
The unranked server is actually operational right now. I'm still tweaking the config, but it took over in place of the .98 demo server.
I'm still waiting to hear on the installation of the ranked binaries, but I would expect it to be fairly soon.
As for the unlocks. Allowing global unlocks allows you to use weapons and items that you've earned on ranked servers. It does not give everyone all the unlocks. I will say, however, that it remains to be seen what punitive measures EA will take against servers hacking all of the unlocks open.
I don't think we have any word on what scripts will run on the released server, but I'll be getting into that shortly.
