Choke point crazy!

Wow, outside of a few big open run across a feild and get shot maps. There a lot of maps that force choke points, that or are city maps and have a bunch of mini choke points.

Makes for some intense fighting, of one side pushing one side back. Right now it is kinda spazmat...the line going back and forth. But with TG I can see one squad going forward to secure a hold on the line, then the next squad pushes the line forward while the previously one holds where it is.

So much fun ...really who ever did not get this game is missing out. Both the beta and demo are hooooooorible standards to hold this game too because those maps were poop!

Been on 4 maps so far that force these really tight choke points, and I have only played a like half of the maps so far. So it is not just like 1 or 2 maps like in BF2.

Do the maps seem a little smaller than BF2? That's the one thing I've noticed, it doesn't take long to walk from control point to control point. That's what makes for some frenzied action.

A lot of the maps only have 16 and 32 player versions for some reason...

Think they mentioned in an earlier versions that overall the maps were smaller. Verdun and sidi are still pretty spaced out though.

Re: Choke point crazy!

I find some of the maps a little annoying. The onese where basically the same side is going to win every time. This is usually where one team has all the flags but one, and it is pretty much impossible for the the attacking team to get past. There is usually just one flag in a small gap and the whole defending team is there, so they rack up a lot of kills and end up winning the round. Not good.

Re: Choke point crazy!

theres always ways to get past choke points. Apcs, use active defense to get through. Get a buggy and race through. Grab a gunship or transport and fly over. Ive always been able to break through defenses.

Re: Choke point crazy!

Ya breaking through is not really a problem. However after getting the flag, having people there to defend with you is hard...least on a pub.

Sure this is no problem on the TG server however

Re: Choke point crazy!

Good points. And also don't forget that its maps like these where a good squad leader is very important. For example, just rushing through the choke point one time will allow the squad leader to drop a spawn beacon in some out-of-the-way place near a flag that hasn't been captured yet. Voila-instant spawn point.

Everyone should keep in mind that while many of the strategies and tactics will remain the same or similar as bf2, or bf1942 for that matter, the additional power-ups available in bf2142 will ensure that there are very different and likely better ways to approach goals than we are used to.
