Titan Lag

Please CO's do not move the titan around. That is the key element that causes so much lag inside of it when defending the darn thing. It was a big problem during the demo and the testing phase of the game. Its something that I hope EA will work on. Now as far as the lag everywhere else I cannot explain that. But I have a Great PC set up and do see dropped frame rate or lag until I am aboard a MOVING Titan. So please do us a favor. Only move it when the shields are up and no one is on board.

You'd think EA wouldn't release the game until a MAJOR issue like this was resolved. Bad of me to think EA would actually release a decent product!

It is not the game. It is our server. Go to other servers in Titan mode and there will be no lag. There are a lot of servers successfully accessorizing their servers to be able to handle 48 players in a Titan mode.

Bash EA, bash the game. It is a like a whole new culture, like the Japanese have the tea ceremony the battlefield fans have the bash away routine. Even the words are almost same from title to title. Now people are saying BF2 is a legend forgetting how the same kind of bashing has been going on.

And here I am trying to get Beatnik, Bommando to play this game with us. If they see you bashing away it would add to their doubt and we would have to carry all the burden of bringing in new blood and training them.

Please be informed a little bit more or don't post at all. I have seen some pretty idiotic things last couple of days. People swearing they won't buy the game, and couple of hours later I see them playing... Just be a little smarter, or at least informed before broadcasting.

Not directly to you Telorn I am just saying in general. I have been holding it in for a while.

Too many servers are lagging baddly for it just to be a fluke of the server and not bad code by DICE.

If anyone asked me if they should buy the game now, I'd say no. Wait a few weeks for them to hammer out the issues, unless you dont mind dealing with the issues.

I'm sure most of the servers lagging are doing so because they don't have adequate system requirements to run BF2142. This happens for pleny of games; a new one comes out and people take their older servers and run the new game, not thinking about the increased sys reqs. The fact that some servers are peachy keen just shows that if you've got the hardware and the pipe, the game will work fine.

I have experienced a lot of lag in the Titan on servers other than TGs (havn't played TG's yet).

I have a top of the line machine + connection.

I played 10 different servers for various amounts of time. Lag was not as extreme as it was on ours. I have no doubt moving the TITAN jacks that through the roof. That being said I'd say the lag was only bad on 3 or 4 servers out of 10. The real sticking point was that VOIP in game did not seem to work on the majority of the servers...weird!

Whether it's 'cool' or not to bash. The lag shouldn't be happening in the first place.

it's really only an issue after the titan has been boarded. Moving the titan into a strategic position early in the game can be a real asset on the ground as long as it is left there once the shields go down. I have played on a lot of different servers and all of them have lagged when the titan is moving during boarding to some extent (this is especially noticeable when you get killed and your body slides through the titan as if it were not there). Although it is not usually as noticeable as it is on the TG server.

I saw floating bodies on pretty much all server that I played on.

But the good thing it should be a fairly easily corrected bug as other things stay on the ground correctly.

But as Snail put it , give me lag, give me pubbies, give me disconnects, give me wait time, kill me and frustrate me, I still love what they have done with the team play in this game and have a hard time understanding why people that like BF2 would avoid this game, sure it has birth pains but so did BF2. Dont get me wrong I am still not happy about the server situation and the bugs, but I think the game is still an unpolished diamond on the rough.

There are a lot of things we consider 'easy' fixes although EA/DICE have proven it can take months, if ever, to fix it
