Baur vs. Default Assault rifle
Been trying to decide which I like better. When I first used the baur I looooved it, but been noticing shooting at long distance targets is kinda hard because the gun kicks so much.
So started using the regular one again, guess it is easier to control at range but feels sooo weak
PLus I hate the Best Buy unlock with a passion, and you can not switch it out for the scar. So me thinks I'll just be using the baur when I am EU heh.

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
I never can get a handle on the gun names like you guys do. I know I'm not giving up the Medic unlock gun, and the anti tank unlock rocks like Bob.

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
the medic gun (light assault rifle) is a LOT better at close quarters because of its 40 round clip. Baur is better at mid range, single shot. It does kick a lot because its more powerful. Keep it in single shot and youll do a lot better.

Baur is good. Voss is also pretty good.

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
Found the baur(heavy assault) to be excellent at close range, more so than the voss(medic). Well unless you have to kill 2 eneimes...then there is a problem heh.
Tried doing the single shot, it does help on stationary targets, having trouble with the moving ones though. The sway messes with my I think, think I just need to play with it some more.
I am just happy, that all 3 have the rockets...I looooove my rockets.

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
I'd like the Baur a lot more if it didn't switch the keyboard numbers of my defib and rockets. Thats really annoying.

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
I love Baur... I have not unlocked it but I have used it number of times through Field upgrade and I always unlock it first when I get a chance during the field upgrady moments.
Single Shot is the best way to go too... You can even outgun a Support dude with 1-2 well placed shots while the support is waiting for his crosshair to shrink.

Fun, fun and more fun. But do not be selfish. Provide some fun and you will receive some fun.

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
The Baur is a nice gun. I don't have any problems engaging at a distance in single-shot mode; just give the gun a little more time to settle between rounds than with the default. Your lower rate of fire will be made up for by the higher power. If you're close enough that you don't want to go into SS mode yet, get used to firing in short bursts.

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
They probably screwed up, BHack.
I unlocked the rockets and I hate them. I don't know if I'm having a bug issue or I just suck with them..but I've fired 3 rockets into guys multiple times and they aren't even damaged. Do the rockets have a minimum distance before they activate?
I enjoy the shotgun add-on more. I always leave my gun in single shot and if I get in close quarter situations I'll just switch to shotty instead of full auto.Telorn

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
The rockets are tough to use but can be effective. you have to make sure you are managing the detonation distance.

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
I'd like to ask about the Voss (Medic Gun)...has anyone used it and if so, what do they think? Is it useful for a medic to carry around this weapon? I'm concerned about long range performance of the gun, because when I am leading my squad, I prefer to hang back a distance to maintain my situational awareness.
Sorry for hijacking the thread RedTalon, but I didn't want to start a trend of one new thread for every weapon comparison

Re: Baur vs. default Assalut rifle
I might give the shotgun another spin, but I found that it doesn't really give me any capability I don't have with the weapon anyway. I just run around in full-auto (only switch to SS for specific shots) for any unexpected CQB. On the other hand, while the rockets are very tricky, they are neat in theory at least; though so far I've only gotten a few kills with them. They don't have a huge splash radius and they follow a ballistic trajectory and have a minimum distance. Using them effectively is a little more complex than DICE's 'right click, and flick the mousewheel up' explanation, because you're also going to need to compensate for the drop.
