EA helping ‘Real’ squad play

So people want unlocks, I mean they really want unlocks, REALLY - R-E-A-L-L-Y want unlocks,

So anything that gets more unlocks will attract attention right?

EA have linked good squad play to unlocks to encourage a bit of teamwork
  • Following squad leader orders gets you points (I perceive that you just have to stay near the order beacon)
  • Squad orientated netbat unlocks are built into the unlock ladders, so that you have to go through them to get the big gun type unlock
  • Field upgrades quickly let you try unlocks. Try before you buy !
So EA have put in significant measures to encourage squad play. Right ? enough encouragement ?

One idea for TG squad leaders is to tell visiting pubbies in your squad these benefits to encourage them to play along.

Yes!

This is the way to encourage squad play. The other night, a new player was surprised that I actually gave a sqaud order. We quickly mentioned that the benefits from field upgrades are worth it. Stick together and follow orders for points and unlocks!

Its also worth pointing out that 15 minutes of playing on a TG server with the usual attention to squad play nets you more unlocks than you can use practically...

Oh yes. When we have TG squads working together like they usually do the points come rolling in. Follow a commander order, get Commander bonus points. Follow a SL order? Get squad bonus points. Work together with your squad? Get squad assist points. Defend an objective? Get Defense points... etc.. etc.. etc... Regular TG players are going to rank up way faster than pubbies. We're all awful stat padders.

Re: EA helping ‘Real’ squad play

Small request: When there's a situation such as one 6/6 squad and a small (1-2/6) squad, could we make an effort to even squads a little so the small squad is more likely to (i) get field ups and (ii) just plain be more effective?
