The jets in BF2 were overpowered, but it seems Dice took the easy way out by just eliminating them here, rather than finding better ways to balance them. I'm not much of a pilot, but the occasional dogfight was pretty fun. There's still POE.

Which reminds me, I don't recall being able to do loops in BF2 helis either .
You can, you just have to be high up enough since you'll lose a lot of altitude (which is reasonable, same thing happens in real life).

Speaking of air power, it seems it's a lot weaker now.. they have the big great Titan, but otherwise you only get a transport and a gunship. No interceptors, bombers, jets, etc .

No need for them when you have a massive Titan with turrets facing in every direction. Not to mention shields.

Now I'd like to know when they will harness the power of the titan shield and make a smaller, portable version for aircraft and then the personal unit for ground troops (besides the support one)

If so I've never seen a shield shimmer when the walker or tanks are hit by explosives. I just figured they had armor. And if a tank did have a shield, then how can a recon guy run up to the tank and place explosives on it? Wouldn't the shield stop them from placing explosives on the tank?

The tank, walker and aircraft all have a short duration shield that acts much like the titan shield, albeit for a period of about 3 seconds. I'm not sure if you can walk up to them while the shield is active. As far as the aircraft go I really haven't been satisfied with the dogfights since 1942 so at this point I've pretty much given up hope in that respect. On the other hand they can be very effective at taking out both armor and infantry if you have a good team flying them.

I see. So that's their counter measure 'X' key instead of smoke as in BF2. Haven't used it yet.

The titan is more like the BF2 carrier, it doesn't have that much of a range and it can really only be annoying towards one of the flags on the map. And it takes forever to get across the map, so you can't really compare it to bf2 jets.

EDIT: Is there a link on how to use shields effectively?
