Hopefully I'll have to time to play a round or two tonight to check it out!

Re: New server online!
Hopefully we have an Admin kicking for TG'ers tonight, cuz the server is already full. Had to get off because I had a client call, but the server is working perfectly. Everyone was complaining about the CO, and he did move the titan after the shields went down, but I was getting no lagging at all.

Re: New server online!
I don't necessarily get lag either. But the walls can get 'phasy/jittery' now and again and dead buddies will float away from me into the enemies' hands. I thought it was some magic they possessed to steal our dead away from us

Oh, and it's great to hear it's running smooth!Telorn

Re: New server online!
If people experience what I experience, then I'd have to disagree, unless you're talking about bad game code on the client and not raw power, because my system has plenty of power.
C2D e6600 @ 3GHz, 2GB RAM, ATI x1900XTX and X-Fi. So I know it isn't lack of system power for me. But maybe it is an AA/AF bug, which I play at 4x/8x respectively. That could make sense.Telorn

Re: New server online!
Sometimes (though I haven't played very often yet) I can see the walls flicker, and dead bodies either floating or still moving somehow. One time I was even able to see through one of the walls, which was pretty weird.

Re: New server online!
Doesnt look like it is a lack of power.. I have real close to that but not quite.. but I do have a dedicated 12MB Business Cable Line... Could it be some sort of networking issue? I dont have a gaming router but have been thinking about getting one.. just havent looked into all the specs of such before just jumping off into that. I am not certain how much a gaming router would make a difference.

Re: New server online!
My system is the same, except for a 7900GT KO. I believe the main difference here is the cool skulls painted on mine and red underglo lighting which puts the processing power into Cray supercomputer territiory.
Yes, possibly it's bad code related to hardware. Now I'm not certain, though. The Dirty

Re: New server online!
A gaming router would make no difference unless you have a lot of people, who are connected to that gaming router, surfing the web, VoIP, FTP'ing, etc. It'll prioritize your gaming packets before theirs - but only if they're on your network. After that you have no control.
If you really want to decrease your ping/increase your gameplay, then the Killer NIC is the way to go. It is proven to lower your ping times and gives you FPS improvement because it is a hardware NIC controller and takes the TCP resources off the CPU. But I can't justify its current price. WoW users may, though, because it has been proven to increase FPS by 40%, but most games don't see more than 5-10%.Telorn

Re: New server online!
I have been looking at a couple of articles on that NIC and I am very intrigued by it.. and have been thinking about buying it but I too cant justify the cost on it when I dont really experience any problems in any of the online games I play.

Re: New server online!
Yeah. Reviewer's say you have to see it to believe it. Kinda like an X-Fi sound card. Doesn't appear to be much by what you read. But if you hear it, WOW, what a difference.
It can be half in their heads, too
We need a control group for the reviewers.

Re: New server online!
the only weird glitchy thing that happens to me in titan mode is that dead bodies will sometimes slide around the floor of the interior of the titan. I don't think it's a performance/lag issue, maybe just a software issue.
